Can you believe that the French did their nuclear testing in the Polynesian Islands?

Come to think of it ... we weren't much better.

polynesians that are not born us citizens can come and go to the USA as they please as migrants as part of an apology for the bombing

they also get special medicaid programs to deal with any health issues

i doubt all of the components would be made in america. still, any jobs that stay stateside is great.

As far as EPIC is concerned... all components are currently made in the USA.

Good Metaphor for RED that island. A single bastion of lush professional quality cameras amidst an ocean of bland consumer models yet only a relatively modest rise above the surface in price terms

Have you considered releasing Epic and Scarlet in 'kit' form.. I'm pretty good at putting together model planes and ships :P

Good luck...

For those of you that can't quite comprehend the complexity of what we are trying to do... consider that there are 70 boards and 11,000 pieces on an EPIC-X (with modules).

Just food for thought while you are waiting...

That is truly awesome! Beautiful island too. If I owned that I think I would promote one of your colleagues and follow Reds progress from my beachside cabana.

JRED is about 4 years old. That is extremely young when you consider the industry. We have put out one (1) product... the RED ONE. ...

Jim,

That's simply NOT true... :embarassed:

Red has put out more than one product. How about all the accessories? Lenses? SOFTWARE! RedCine-X has seen more advancements in color grading than Avid Symphony or Media Composer have seen in the past ten years.

You are being way too hard on yourself. Even without the Red One, Red has done an impressive job. There are companies that need years to make a single lens mount. And in that time you made a line of accessories, two lines of cine lenses, grading software... and the Red One.

Today's fresh shot from my own island of Fiji:

IMHO, I would let this be more widely known. I really think Made in the USA can be a big selling and promotional point for Epic.

... But I was more of an Odi Mushroom than an Oakley B-1B kid, so take what I say w/ a grain of salt, LOL.

Don't stress Jim.

When you catch that gremlin name him Spike and take another month off on at your Island- so cool.

The Red team should now have a drinking game for post that claim "No Scarlet ruined my film" because if your script is that great you could shoot it on anything. I'd love a Scarlet for my next project but truth be told there is nothing stopping me from shooting right now with my current gear. Don't wait around as life is short plus we could all knock out another project or two before the cameras ship. Beating up on RED is not fair at all as they do have a working camera system you can buy now. Don't stress, be flexible. Everything I've worked on has had Murphy's Law pop up so the Bug had to happen, the test is how you deal with it. Some of our best moments in film history are happy accidents not the planned ones.

Good luck team RED! Good health Jim! And good hunting SWAT!
