These mounting accessories are beautifully designed and produced. Thanks Brook, Curt and Caroline!

Now ... all I need is an Epic-X. :-)

Brook, are you guys still working on an FMJ bottom plate compatible with the RED PRO Universal Quick-Release System?

Since RED has the Modular Assault Plate coming [and shipping!], I'm not going to develop a competing product. Theirs'll do the trick. :)

When did you order?

Within minutes of it hitting the store. It was worth the wait.

I count that as another reason why your products are the first ones I look to after Red's.

Art, we can ship FMJ-TOP-Xs and FMJ-BOTTOMs within a day of ordering. If time is critical we can sometimes do same day. We are trying to get the FMJ-Side-Arms and FMJ-15mm-LWs in stock so we can ship kits same day as well. You guys are making it difficult to keep stock on the shelf :)

You only got it now?....ah crap...that means we won't be getting ours for quite a while.... :(
I still think you should be doing the bottom plate Brook. It gives user another option of where to buy accessories from.... And Brook how are the side arms that don't connect to your bottom plate coming? (the ones compatible with the RED Quick release system) :)

Doing the DSMC bottom plate would push other [more unique] products back. It would take us long enough to stop our current products and start that one that by the time we shipped... it'd be too late since RED would be shipping theirs in volume.

The cantilevered sidearms are still in the chain... after the battery plates. Don't worry, I hear you guys. I have a list of about 15 products I want to make, they just take time. :)

Does the RED Modular Assault plate attach to your bottom plate which then attaches to the camera?

Can a bottom plate not be made that is both compatible with Red's quick release system and able to utilize these two anchor point Viewfactor/BW side arms?

If you want to use the DSMC QR baseplate from RED, the FMJ-Bottom and FMJ-Sidearms are *not* compatible. You *could* install RED's DSMC QR baseplate to the FMJ-Bottom and use the sidearms as well, but the optical height would be raised, so it's not proper compatibility.

The sidearms will not work with the DSMC QR baseplate - they simply weren't designed to do so and as a result they will never fit. That's not to say that sidearms that are compatible with the DSMC-QR baseplate *aren't* possible, merely that the ones that we sell were not designed to work in that way. Understanding that people are interested in this functionality, we are going to make cantilevered sidearms that work the FMJ-Top plate only [without requiring the FMJ-Bottom as the current sidearms do]. They will come after we are shipping battery plates [which are on the mills right now].

The best bet for DSMC-QR baseplate users now is the Stealth Plate. It attaches to the dumb side of the camera by replacing the blanking plate where the DSMC side handle [stills grip] installs.

Good point, thanks for the clarification. More decisions...

Remember that the FMJ-Bottom's original primary purpose is to act as a spacer to make R1 baseplates work with the Epic. We will be releasing our own Epic-sized sliding baseplate when the time comes which will be compatible with the FMJ-Bottom. :)

You should do that now! :)
