  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Brook Willard

It's been almost four years since I first played with a RED ONE and almost 8 months since my first test with an Epic. You can't imagine how excited I am to finally have one.

In the words of Jarred, "heh heh heh." :)

So awesome. So much has happened since we worked together in the NAB booth - heh heh heh

Feels pretty damn good doesn't it?

When I think off all the great info Brook has offered/shared/ and contributed to REDuser, and as well many, many of us individually, myself included.... I can't think of a more deserving "M" owner!

Congrats Brook.

RED sure is keeping the Epic-M's close to the family. Congrats Brook.

Feedback could get very interesting!

I've been lucky enough to use the Epics from the alpha days while testing for a few different movies. In that time I've seen the camera come a long, long way and improve enormous amounts. RED has been incredibly receptive to feedback and has been doing a kick-ass job of implementing changes quickly. Since Spider-Man started back in October I've been up to my neck in Epics 7 days a week. I've never seen support like what I've experienced from RED in this time. It's been awesome!

What are your immediate plans for your Epic, Brook?

I'll start renting it very soon, but those of you that know me know that the first order of business is to accessorize this puppy. :)

It's freakin' awesome! I've gotten so used to working with Epics day-in and day-out for the last few months that actually having one of my own is off-the-charts awesome. Seeing it mature from a machined block of aluminum to an alpha camera to what I have sitting in front of me has been a hell of an experience.

I've been pretty tight-lipped about the Epic on these forums so far. Now that they're out there, I'll start to spread the wealth. The cameras are rock solid - I can't say enough good things to describe it [though I'll try...].

Trust me everybody, it's worth the wait. That's not a knee-jerk "I got a camera!" note or me trying to sell it in any way. It's the inevitable conclusion to spending every day with these puppies for a very, very long time.

Thanks for all the kind words everybody... you all know how stoked I am. :)

I've built some things for Spidey that I'm going to clean up and I'm building a bunch of 2D stuff for the show. I'll post some pictures when I have ones that look pretty enough. Eight months with a camera and four months with it every day will give you some ideas. We've already had to build many bits and bobs on Spidey that we've been using for months and have already reworked. It's pretty fun stuff - the camera is so versatile that you can really make it into whatever you need.

I'll post stuff when and where appropriate.

Actually Brook is just very tall, though not as tall as Jarred :coolgleamA:

OK, maybe I'm just short :smile5:

In any case, I imagine this "I'm so happy for you Brook" post will be considered noise and rapidly tossed by a moderator. FWIW this is only my 4th "noise" post of over 1,000 so I don't feel too bad.

Cheers - #19
Time to create an "EPIC-M" button aswell as "Red Team"! haha

Congrats Brook
The excitement is building. How many Ms have shipped to date?

Congrats Brook! and how cool to know that you've avtually been working with EPIC for all those months... CANT WAIT to see how you accessorize this bad boy.
