  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Brook Willard

Thanks, everybody! It's #151, by the way. :)
Congratulations Brook, can't help but be ever-so-slightly jealous!!!

As a side note, #151 is quite a lot of cameras shipped (If they are going out by number). Interesting if they are since it means Red have the production line running quite smoothly already. Fills me with some hope for us Stage Three'rs!

Have fun Brook, look forward to hearing about Spiderman and more.

#151 sounds like a shot ;') Congrats!

How cool would it be to get Epic behind the scenes of Spidey with your new epic. Im soo tired of dvx or hvx cameras being used for the behind the scenes on big budget films. Thats where Scarlet will shine in my eyes .. no more noise in the shadows and mids and the Studios can't say "no" to the low price vs. quality ... lol or could they?

Congratulations Brook!
Are you finished writing the manual yet? hehe
Sorry we couldn't connect when I was in LA.
Cheers,

Yeah that's a lot of cameras out there already... that would be neat to keep making machined Epics alongside the production models. That's the owner's bike-parts heritage I guess!

i thought epic-m has nothing to do with epic-x?
and isnt the wait for the cast parts the reason no epic-x is shipped yet?
btw. i like the idea of epic-m still being produced even after the epic-x ships.
for 12 k or so you get everythingachined.
thats great.
any european or asian epic-m owners out there?
@brook enjoy your epic...u were always a great source of knowledge

Ya know... as soon as Brook posted he had #151, i was thinking "Bacardi would be a great name for the cam..."

The point I was making was simply that if they've made 151+ Epics using machined parts that takes longer to produce than cast parts then Red's production line must be fairly well organised by now which means that when they come to the Epic-X production they ought to fly out of the door pretty rapidly. As such those like me who have a few thousand stage 2'ers in front of them hopefully won't be waiting too long.

It's a good name... but something tells me "Spidey" would be more appropriate. :)

I've seen Epic-Ms [Epics-M?] in the high 100s - they're cranking.

You'll probably still get more 151 bottles that you'll know what to do with. I'd say after a while try to run your car with it. Might gain some horsepower! :)

I don't have a good gauge on Alexa's roll-out numbers, but it sounds like Red's machined roll-out rate might be up there with it. Anyone know?

Congrats man! Awesome to see you got your own :) Thanks for all the testing & feedback!

Thanks, Rob! Loving this thing. :) I'm so busy working with them that I'm really looking forward to actually being able to post some of my own material!

Very much looking forward to that Brook! Not just because I bet it will be great stuff, but also to celebrate you, after thousands of very helpful posts that we've all read and learned a great deal from.

Congrats Brooks!

Should fit nicely on your skydive helmet!

Finally got a chance to play with some Epics and 3D yesterday......first shoot next week....

I can now share in your excitement.......
