Hey guys,

sorry it has been taking a whiile to do this, but both João and I have been extremely busy, and I thank João for finding the time to edit and start uploading this BTS Videos of our RED EPIC Workshop in Campina Brazil last March.

This was a particular workshop done for a small and select group of people in Brazil which worked in different fields of the industry and for the first time came across RED, this will still be very informative to some, and give a start to some.

A comprehensive BTS Video is coming which will be shot here in Rome, with the Title of "EPIC in FASHION" and it will take you from A to Z on getting the EPIC set up, and then get lighting and Flash set up to shoot your Models and take the material to post and finally to Print.

But for now I hope you start enjoying this videos, 5 in al, two are already up.

A HUGE THANKS to João and every one in Brazil.

ALBUM is located here: https://vimeo.com/album/2053312

I'll add the videos here as soon as they get uploaded.

The third video is now up... Enjoy it... ;)

Glad you like them Brett, more are coming, 3 more to be exact, then we are working on a Specific Epic in Fashion video, which will be a step by step video specifically recorded as a Teaching tool , instead of BTS videos like this.

Ketch,

Question about Video 3: The camera sensor does not record in color? i did not know this. Black and White? Color obviously effects the image, each object in the image is adsorbing a specific spectrum of light which to humans is perceived as the color. You are saying the epic is similar to a kids coloring book? The drawing (image) is in black and white and you fill in the colors of your choice (RCX) ?

But i want to capture what my eyes see, more than any camera they are my tool. i want to film the sunset with the same intensity, beauty and vibrance that my eyes show me. i want to share what i see. it's interesting to hear the sensor does all it's work in black and white. Film camera's record the color on the film negative, correct?

often people pulling focus, or color grading use black and white monitors for higher resolution viewing, introducing color lowers the resolution?

Same as in Photography, colors are distributed thanks to the Monitors, obviously in a monochrome Film Roll or specifically designed sensor, then even the monitors will show you a B&W image, but the camera does not see colors, we see them only because of the Monitor's technology allows us to see it.

Here is a simplified read to explain why : http://www.cambridgeincolour.com/tutorials/camera-sensors.htm

I believe shooting in 5K has been beautifully demystified by Ketch.
nobody should have any issue explainig to a client about the advantgaes of going RED.
Thank you again Ketch.

This are the extract of a several days Workshop, and no all info is here, as the guys did an incredible work in documenting it with too many hours of material.

And even so there are two more coming with some hands on location with the models, still there is so much left to talk and show, and for this I have decided to do a specific HOW TO "EPIC in FASHION" workshop video here in Rome that will assist any one beginner or experience how to take the Epic thru the paces and Print some insane images off of it.

PLUS A SURPRISE... ;)

Ketch,

I'd like one specifically on proper exposure. I run into contradicting accounts, either ETTR or ETTL. Avoid stops lights, use false color etc... Will your next few videos help at all? I can learn exposure, test, test test, but I want a source to point those new to the RED workflow and for them to be confident out in the field.

Okay, to this series there are still TWO more videos coming as they are 5 in total, and there should be something about exposure in different environment both indoor and outdoor with and without HDRx and also in High frame rates.

However the Next video, "EPIC in FASHION" will be one specifically done to produce the video and not as a workshop, will also in detail got thru Proper Exposure, and a S%# load more of stuff, if some one is still not able to properly use and get great images out of the EPIC/Scarlet after that, then they really need to find a job on a Restaurant or something.. ;)
