  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Bot and Dolly + RED

Do these bots have any particular catering requirements?

Years ago John Van Vliet used to draw annual calendars where each month poked fun at some aspect of the industry.
If it can be located, I liked the one where the track camera did not stop at the end of the track, and went right on through the wall leaving an opening in the wall the outline of the bogey + camera.

NOT a "pipe dream". Already in the works. The robots are coming to your set sooner than you think.

There's a couple new players that will show solutions at IBC - a couple are targeting broadcast specifically - but you will see turn-key robots for camera moves at affordable prices soon. I'm following it closely - and much of the hardware required has recently dropped in price.

Saw an interesting Kickstarter project on Engadget today:

http://www.engadget.com/2015/10/23/smart-robot-arm-kickstarter/

$350, uses a Kinect or Leap motion sensor, and can be controlled 3 ways:

1. Remotely, using a 3D visualization app on a computer
2. Using gestures (mimic feature)
3. By manually moving it

Man, couple that with a motorized track & you'd be in business!
