  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Bomb EVF Shipping

Its a miracle that this thread has seemed to have turned around ( at least for the time being ) Thanks for posting you guys that have received them :)

You can add two more to the list, thanks guys... ;)

One of the two will have to go to our second Epic M that came with out one, but I believe that the Red One will not mind working with the Original EVF + ET EVF Mount, for a little longer he he.

yeah we didn't get an EVF BOMB with our second Epic M, just like many others we are in Backorder, but we see the delivering of them has picked up by a Tone!!

...got two of'em this morning (along with a RED FOCUS). They're SWEEEEEEET!!! :emote_happyhappy:

Whats the lead time for March of this year? All this good press is making me hope for a quick turn around

Don't forget to include your ORDER dates folks - gives us a Timeline of Hope!

I got the email today and will be submitting payment in the morning. I ordered on July 19, 2010.

Looks like they are really pumping them out.

I am hoping for quick delivery. I will post when I get it. :thumbup1:

I got my email today saying that I was in the next delivery group. Anyone able to say how long it was between the email and when they got their evfs?

I got my e-mail on the 7th, my invoice on the 8th, the wire transfer was done on the 10th, I was informed the transfer was received on the 15th and the Bomb EVF was shipped that same day, it took two days to arrive to Switzerland...

Great service (after a looooooong wait), cheers again,
Damien

Congratulations, well done ;-) Hope to get mine soon, ordered August 8th 2010. Got today the SSD module and 2 64GB CVard for my RED MX, work perfect. Now need EPIC for my perfect luck ;-)

So they are about 4 months out as mine was ordered in October 2010. Maybe they are picking up speed though? I am hoping to see it in September. How come nobody mentions the 7" pro LCD that has been backordered for the same amount of time? Just curious as I am waiting on that puppy too.

Have a great day!

EVF mounting with RED Rail components suggestion

EVF mounting with RED Rail components suggestion

while waiting for the Epic-X with Bomb EVF here some thinking about an
EVF mount. I did not yet see a good and light solution on the market,
but i think in fact RED itself has a working solution with its rail components:

start with :

http://www.red.com/store/rail-components/product/sliding-top-handlen 175$
and the http://www.red.com/store/rail-components/product/camera-guide-100mmn 100$
mounting with the guide in the lens axis of the camera, so that the rossette of the handle is to the side

then choose a dogbone:

http://www.red.com/store/rail-components/product/dogbone-a-straight-2 75$
http://www.red.com/store/rail-components/product/dogbone-c-arched-2 125$
http://www.red.com/store/rail-components/product/dogbone-c-arched-3 100$

then to mount the BOMB EVF
http://www.red.com/store/rail-components/product/dogbone-block 50$
+ http://www.red.com/store/rail-components/product/rosette-blockn for getting a rossette 150$

or the http://www.red.com/store/rail-components/product/accessory-attachment-bracket 200$
that needs perhaps to be a bit shorter
to mount the EVF on it. see picture.

The nice thing is that you can slide the handle to position the EVF forward and backward.

other possibilities would be putting a RED accessory-attachment-bracket between
the QRplate and the RED 15mmlightweight
http://www.redgrabs.com/up/1306598973.jpg
and use that rossette as starting point for a bone and second accessory attachment bracket.

other combinations are possible. that what modularity is about.

if somebody could try this with the real pieces and post some pictures?
