I attach two frames from an interview I shot with my scarlet w and zeiss otus 85mm. In an earlier thread someone mentioned this might be “onion skinning”. Does anyone have any advice to deal with this? Now that I noticed it, it’s pretty distracting. Is this an exposure issue, lens issue, or camera? Thanks

Hi John, saw these in the Otus thread a second ago too, but I'll answer here while I grab some coffee.

So what's going on here is something in the scene at a very specific spot being magnified within the bokeh itself. In this case it looks like hair or maybe some tassels from a blind/shade. I'd grab that lens and just shoot something out of focus with nothing near it to ensure that, but I've seen this enough to know there's essentially something creating a false aperture somewhere.

Ah ok so it doesn’t seem like there is anything internally wrong with the lens. THANK YOU for your input. I’m going to do some tests tomorrow
