Jon yeah! Considering everything accept the ARRI Alexas "seem" to top out at about 13Stops.

The footage I've seen from the camera does look quite nice
and it does improve upon the original BMD 12K.

Keep in mind that the 14 stop test chart is from the 12K image downscaled to 4K which is the 1st time I've seen CineD perform that particular test with any camera.
Naturally the signal to noise improves when downscaling.
Still an impressive camera.

The camera's got 13.6 stops of dynamic range when placing 12K 3:2 BRAW ISO 800 on a 4K timeline, 13.2 stops of wholesome dynamic range goodness when shooting 4K 17:9.

I don't know why but I just can't get excited for BMD cameras. Maybe still PTSD from the original one in 2012 ish

I thinks it's just the look of the cameras dont inspire any real excitement. They don't look like REDs or ARRIs or Sonys, they just always seem to look like "Mockup" of a potential new camera and cheesy looking. I'm sure they do great things from what I've read and seen they just don't have that "WOW FACTOR" when you see them. I'm still hoping for the 8K DGO multiple Native ISO Full Frame Canon C600 or C800

I am very glad that the camera has been testing so great! We are absolutely going to be looking at the 12K OLPF, 12K LF, and 17K 65 going forward, Blackmagic Design is doing an amazing job! Admittedly, the only thing missing is an 8K/12K Pocket or Pyxis model to make up the smaller formfactor side but we're getting a lot of 8K options already with the Nikon Z8/Z9 still looking like our top choices.

Shot shoulder mount with manual focus by Tanner Fowler (Denver, Colorado) with Canon Cine Servo 25-250 T2.95 zoom and Laowa 12mm.
Braw at 18:1 compression, native ISO 800. Minor sharpening and noise reduction added in post.

“We've had the camera around a month and have had time to get it out on a few shoots. Here are my rambling thoughts from an Ursa Cine 12K LF owner and user; what I like, what I don't like and a good ol' chat about using it.” (Maty Young, Young One Studio, Hollywood, California)

Starting from 24:28 he comments on image quality.

It kinda sucks that the Ursa Cine built-in LCDs don’t support HDR PQ monitoring.
