Hi guys,

Just made some test with the Scarlet last night and try to make a time-lapse so I configure the Scarlet @ 1fps and and set the shutter at 1s and shoot 5K
I immediately saw some white fix pixel in the frames, a lot of them, like it was snowing in Jakarta but they are non moving dots.

I notice that when I move the shutter, to a faster speed, the dots are disappearing a bit each fastest stops the Shutter is set.

So I try to make a black shading with the first setting I want shoot with: 1fps, shutter 1s, 5K, ISO 800. But when I try to do that at the end I got the message: "calibration failed"... I tried twice and get twice the same message.
Any thoughts what I can do to have a clean shot with the above settings ?
Thanks.

Try doing it at same settings, but with resolution set to 4KHD. Once Black Shade is successful, reset resolution to 5K. The whole sensor is still being black shaded, but that's worked for me in the past!

Make sure there is no light hitting the sensor. Iris right down, put lens cap on. Or if no lens, put body cap on. I often also put a thick opaque coat over the lens mount too if I'm feeling paranoid, as some lens caps potentially are somewhat transparent to InfraRed.

I'm Paranoid same as you, I put also a thick coat to cover Sensor, I actually use the Body cap, I think it's more efficient to block the light.
I Will try your idea at 4K HD right now !

It Works with new build 3.0.6 ! next step is too try the same shot and see if it still snowing on Jakarta... Will post the result soon.

The format at which you calibrate doesn't matter, the camera's calibration mode disregards it.

3.0.6 should allow you to black shade at any shutter speed. Just remember to re-black shade if you've shade if you've calibrated at a longer shutter speed and have switched back to a shorter shutter. For most situations, the default option is the way to go. For a 1s exposure though, you'll definitely need it.

Good luck!

I'm on the latest release 3.2.13 and tried black shading with the same settings as above, 1 fps with 1 sec shutter speed, and also got the Calibration Failed message. Has this bug crept back into the latest release build?
