  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Big news...

update on the Stage 2 program. Others were hoping for affordable 4K displays in the RED store. I was hoping to see a working Redmote Pro or a wireless HD-SDI/HDMI module for Epic.

I'll admit Julio, those would have been nice to hear. My point was had the earthquake and tsunami not occurred, we "stage two people" would likely be receiving our emails about our long awaited Epic's arrival. Had that occurred the excitement level would have been through the roof regardless of any other announcement or lack there of. All stages would have felt closer to the promised land.
It has been frustrating for everyone involved. None more than Jim.

I can't I understand! I only see tne new trips in polemic and trips in calling BIG 125-th delay in good words! I habe been told for 3 years that I can get Eric-S is soon then delay in 2009, then delay in 2010 tnen promise that I can buy Epic-s in 2011 now delay in 2011 again may be it is some game? I have a simple quastion without game in ritorics according to all resons for delay - WHEN? Just Tell the truth! I just want to know the truth after 3 years of promises I just want to know? Will be realesed Epic-S and When? 2012 - 2013 - 2014? I can't believe any more in any promises as soon or later? Any body Could tell the truth? Stop game in words! Even it will be in 2014 I just want to know truth If I knew in 2009 that the new soon again and again and I will not see Epic-S before 2012 I bought RED ONE long ago but again I see game in "soon". I don't want to read after another 3 years someting like that: Everything changes. From now on.. We are don't produce Camera anymore and Now we are building cars. Because everything in life changes!
When? I have not hope anymore for another 3 years!
Anybody can tell the truth or we still be playing?
 
Alexey, there's no need for that kind of tone. Jim has just said they aren't talking about it until its ready. Move along until they make the next announcement. The R1/MX is still available. Go ahead and grab one if you can't wait. It's a damn fine camera.

I understand it was the hardest approach to take but it was what made RED human and accessible - from a corporate identity standpoint it set RED apart from its competition by miles and set a precedent that I hoped might spread throughout the corporate world - instead RED caved and goes to the dark side of doing things the normal way - hope that doesn´t rub off to the tech departments - cause doing things the crazy way has brought RED to where it is.

I agree with you but I'm sure things will find their balance soon, right now Jim has to face a lot of anticipation from thousands of RedAddicts, but he can't do much because of the tragedy, I can understand his position quite well, time will tell.

I knew this would happen at some point! Ukrainians are usually good people, but as soon as they think they know how everything in the west works and it isn't the way they imagined, they'll be quite mean and rude about it. Trust me, I know. I am Ukrainian and every day I deal with people who've been to US for a week or two and think they are in position to "show everyone how it should b done".

But don't worry, Jim. If you loose him as a customer (which I highly doubt) you won't be at a loss, couse he's gonna suck on your blood forever.

The truth is that the Japan disaster has cut off supply of key parts for these cameras and no one knows at this point how, when, or from where replacements will be available. This is not Red's or anyone else,s fault. The same circumstances are affecting many companies.
 
Thanks, sorry I can't understand more things I just have been waiting for 3 years for Epic-S or Scarlet and was told soon, soon,soon And now I read - sometimes in future I can't wait 3 years more It is so hard to me buy REd One after it became 25 000 ple 8 000 accsesuaries and 10 000 for lenses plus shipping about 45000 I have only 30 000 (credit) it is enough for Epic-S (ready to shoot)but If i will know honestly that I will not get Epic-S or Scarlet or Epic-X before end of 2012 may be I will sell my hous for REd ONE i Just want to know truth. About 2 years on manu forums in Russia and Ukraine I was posting - RED will make revolution soon and now everybody ask me: Where your Revolution? My cinema rpojects are hot to ready for 2 years and I can't breathe understending that my prijects are dying! and honestly ant I didn't it on Mark5, EX3, P3 or Sony 35 mm new, I can't I want make best projects on Best camera and frankly Yes Jim get every time a big stabs And it is not his foult but and not mine!!!! I think such zealous follower it is a future of RED and maybe we deserve to get some way out may be to selling RED One in credit!
For example I have 30 000 USD (credit in bank for 20%) I am paying back this credit for 1 years and waiting for Epic-S I can't get another credit for 15 000 in bank may be RED according to such terrible situation can sell RED ONE MX in credit for 1 years or somethink like or selling used RED ONE but we have to finde some exit from this! I can't wait and hope and hope again witout understading how much time I need to hopping again, 1 years, 2,3. It is not hard just tell the truth! All you really need is to be attentive to what's been written in the posts on reducer but Jim to understand the circumstances. It's easy to just criticize, call it "a game" and demand "the truth". But if you pay some respect, and try to understand the situation (which is not that hard really), you'll be respected in return.

Алексей, а ты не думал взять RED one в аренду? Есть кучу возможностей в Киеве. Если у тебя на самом деле такой гениальный проект, то думаю он бы скоро начал приносить прибыл и ты себе если захочеш личную RED, то купишь и Epic-M. Из любой ситуации есть выход.
Translation:
Alexey, have you thought of renting a RED one? There are many possibilities in Kiev. If you really have such an incredible project, I would assume that soon it will bring in profit and if you really want your own camera, you can buy even an Epic-M quite soon. There is a way out from any situation.

Why on Earth would you get a loan to buy a camera that doesn't exist? This sounds like a desperate scam to me. If so, it's in very poor taste, given these latest delays have been caused by an earthquake and if this is for real, I have to question both yours and your bank's sanity.

Liam, you wouldn't BELIEVE, the insanity of the people who get loans from Ukrainian banks. The banks themselves, on the other hand use this insanity quite successfully.
