  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

BEWARE Some fraud trying to sell me the RED camera

Yeah, the same guy was trying to sell me a bunch of stuff... He called me a few times trying to make himself look solid, this is the number he called from: 636-279-4788. his email was dlawson63077@yahoo.com.
 
Is there any other recourse rather than just requesting his acct be pulled? After all, he would just create another phony name/acct that we may fall prey to. Can he be reported to the postmaster general of his respective jurisdiction? Attorney General? Police? Can his IP be flagged? I would just like to know if there is something more lasting that could be done to report or trace this criminal and have him answer for his crime(s). Not condoning any vigilante justice, of course, lol.
 
Every single person that has had contact with him should notify PAYPAL - whether the transaction went through or not.

They have the tools to seize monies still in transfer and most often have verified bank accounts associated with PAYPAL account owners.
Choosing to be so agressive with using them for transactions may be his undoing.

It is very likely he has been "verified" by PAYPAL, so they can track him and document evidence for prosecution.

Since it appears he has been crossing state and international borders, he may find that law enforcement will be quite agressive. Numerous agencies take a keen interest in this type of activity.

If there is any justice, perhaps his future cellmate might take a liking to him...
OK, some will say inappropriate but I have little sympathy for thiefs.
 
I am sad and hate to admit that I F***ing fell for it.. So please be aware of this guy (Doug Lawson). PayPal will not do anything about and neither the banck !... so I guess I am SOL..

hahaha yeah man, he responded to my ad when I was looking for both those lenses. He claimed to have both and wanted 4k for each. From his first email, he sounded fishy, considering those lenses are not priced the same at all. Someone messaged me a few days ago and gave me his phone number to also report to the ICCC in addition to his email.

And yet, "DOUG LAWSON" is still a registered a reduser. MODERATOR(S)? Hello!

Can anyone post the pictures he sent u? He probably is a red owner, maybe he knows the lingo and knows how people on Red User do business.

This is very good to know. I am selling my Red MX in Berlin and i have got also some strange answers regarding this issue. We need to be careful and help each other.

Glad this story might have a happy ending. Someone I know fell for his scam last week to the tune of several thousand dollars. Hopefully everyone gets their money back.
