  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

For those of us that are getting cameras without Touchscreens, Sidehandles or REDmotes, any chance we might be able to get a hold of the iPad/iPhone apps so we can do some shooting in the interim? I think a laptop version was also being worked on.

Just a thought.

+1. Would love to know the status of it, and if it's bundled with a particular DSMC module, or
simply included free with the camera...
 
I was actually thinking about this yesterday, but for post purposes not camera.
It would be awesome if there was a mobile app for RCX-Pro like 3CP's mobile app. To have something like this on-set would be invaluable to DITs and DPs.

ipad/iphone control of epic would be soo much better than programming keys through the menu, or using the redmote (with all due respect).
We could also use the BombEVF and still change settings fast ...

Where can I sign for pre-alpha testing ... :-D :-D :-D
 
I second the vote! I had even thought about getting an extra REDMOTE to use, but it doesn't seem as though you could connect two REDMOTES to one EPIC. (Which would also be helpful!)
 
I also think we all have been really good, so Santa Jim could drop a little present for those, who already have the epic/scarlet or are patiently waiting ... :-D :-D
 
From the YouTube video from Ted, the app they demoed was great. Would really appreciate an iPhone/iPad app; rather than the RedMote; easier to use, more extensible, and infinitely updatable. An alpha version would be cool to use.
 
Yeah... this has been on my mind for a while. Since I already have an ipad as part of my kit, and since *some* ACs dont like using the RED LCD or redmote. Also, sometimes the camera just isnt in a conveniently operable place when on a rig. Plus its just cool.

And yeh, what Fred said about 3cps mobile app, it would be ridiculously fantastic if I could grade r3ds / snapshots on the fly / mobile in front of the DP, if my station isnt nearby... AND THEN I COULD SET THE LOOK STRAIGHT TO THE CAMERA. OH MY GOD. please.

This is great!

I'd much rather do the remote from an iPad/iPhone than the redMote.
They're working on something like this on the F65, and I really think this is the way to go!
 
The Nikon D4 has almost everything you might want from an iPad viewer/controller including touchscreen focus (you need the WT-5 wireless transmitter).

The only thing I think that is missing is realtime streaming as I doubt it is 24fps. We will have to wait and see.

Implement this as a module for the Epic and Scarlet and it will sell like hotcakes. Especially if it is priced within the Scarlet users price range.
 
Please RED / Janard. I think a lot of us would have no problems to pay the standard red mote price to get the red mote app for our iPhones.... I got the red mote but it stays on the back of the camera. An app would be much easer to handle. We could make / save presets make small RCX settings etc right on the phone and email to each other push to the camera etc. I know you guys have more than much to do but programing such thing is not more than what you could get some graphic programing students to do as for internship.
