  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Beta Firmware is up! Burst mode included

Björn it seems this is exactly how it works. Only thing that makes me think otherwise is that Jarred mentioned he got confused with frame rates with all the new burst mode stuff.

  • Added Tamron SP 24-70mm f/2.8 Di VC USD for Canon

That's pretty cool for us run 'n gunners.

Yeeha sounds great. I really wanted a 24-70 2.8 is so i been waiting for this!

I'm glad they finally added a "show rest time" option for the SSDs to the UI instead of the percentage.

Actually sounds pretty useful to me... but this is what caught my eye: "added Dragon Monochrome support" Woot!

Im still trying to fiddle with this setting with stills in mind and I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around it.

The burst mode is activated under Menu/Settings/Recording/ where you can switch from "Continuous Record" to "Burst".
You can then set your desired amount of recorded frames.
As for the pre count / post count difference I'm not entirely sure what it does.
It doesn't seem to be linked to pre record, and the marker is always at the first frame, no matter how I set it up, so I have no clue at the moment how to use that.
But you can add up the frames up to the max available in these two separate fields.

It then shows up in the upper right corner on the preview screen with a little record indicator.

For Scarlet users, this means that for example you can record a maximum of 45 frames at 3:1 / 5k / 7.99fps.

Thanks for the explanation. So when you switch to burst mode it unlocks the lower compression for each resolution.

The pre count actually gives you pre-marker capture. Basically a little pre-roll for your bursts of images. The amount will depend on resolution and red code.

Matt, thanks for the reply! That's what I thought it would do, but shouldn't the marker then be somewhere in the middle of the clip?
And also do some sort of prerecord? Maybe I didn't try enough frames. I couldn't see any prerecorded frames. When I tried a hand wave then push record, stop, there was no hand to be seen :)

thats precisely what what it does.. Let's say you have -5, +5.. The marker will be the exact frame you marked in the middle of the burst. The first burst is the only exception since there are zero pre-roll frames available. Remember, you can have multiple bursts per clip.

Added 6:5 formats for full height 2.40:1 2x Anamorphic de-squeeze

Haven't had a chance to install the beta firmware yet. Does this mean what I hope it does? Can I de-squeeze my anamorphic for monitoring now? In 4k?
