  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

BeSteady FOUR Thread

I've been using the Beast for two years now and absolutely love it. It's very easy to balance and the new auto tune works great.

Sure it could use some work on the stand (not that stable), fine front/back and side to side adjustment would be nice to have a worm gear, and the camera plate is not long enough for short PL zooms. But performance is really good and it's fantastic when it comes to reliability on set. Battery consumption is really good as well.

But two of the best features are:

1-All the tuning can be done with the on board manager, no iPhone or laptop necessary.
2-It's able to invert without re-balancing and the camera is right side up.....which is a big help of not having to turn the village monitors up side down, not to mention flipping the clips in post.

All in all, it was worth the wait.

Thanks for the info! I think I'm going to go for it!

Glad you're that happy with it.

Two years ago i was still excited for this... The unit was part of my plans, which i had to change here and there. I wish things had worked out better for this group-buy.

Today i'm still waiting for a refund and mails don't get answered again. Yay.

I'm in the same boat, Maik - I'll post here if I ever hear anything.

Thanks Kyle.

Who else? Feel free to DM me.

Maybe it would be good to know who we are and how to connect - and if it's just for getting drunk together after who knows what's going to happen. ;-)

ACR and Besteday are partners in this fraud! This is financial crime and we need to take action. Lets connect an see what our options are..

First you should do a public list of all people with their refunds needed to be done.
That's what you should have done since the beginning of the refund issues.

You should gather the name in one single post, and write it on each new page of the thread.

Yeah they owe me money still as well.

Any one have the link to the firmware update?
Thank you.
I hope all those who are waiting for a refund get theirs. I'm sorry for you guys because the gimbal is really a very good tool.! I hope it all works out for you. I know you all have been waiting a very long time.

Close to 2 months now since i last heard from Peter, following mails didn't get answered.

I'm investigating different options now. Looks like i'm on a bit more luckier side, since i'm in the EU.

Mid 2017 and still "waiting". Peter!?

I like that you're still on it, all the bts-pics from the Beast in action, good to know it's alive and ACR too. But how about finally getting things done with those who made this possible?
Had a few talks in the time being, and you know, there are other options than just waiting - but it wouldn't be good for all of us i guess.

Damn i should have invested that money into BTC back then.. LOL

I have been told all REDusers have been paid back. Is that true?! Am i the only one still waiting here?

!!! WARNING ZOMBIE THREAD !!!

Hey, I've started to have encoders issues on September 2017. Right before the Ronin Group buy, so needless to say, I bought one and forgot about the Beast.
One year later, I unboxed a lot of unused gear, and I'm impressed again at how light the Beast is. I'm considering using it with a dry Scarlet-w if it can be reliable again.

Anyone had roll encoder issues ? The trouble on mine started at the first use of the inverted mode. I wish I hadn't tried it.

ACR told me to send it back last year, but considering the resale value, the repair and shipping costs, I'm not sure it's worth the try compared to other gimbals.

Can't recall any recent roll issues but I've had a fair bit of micro vibration issues with mine. Might be because my handles are loose and there's no way of tightening them. Ugh, this thing.

Thanks, I've had micro vibrations too on one set, I didn't tighten enough one of the lever on the tilt lock, and the op didn't warn me of the micro-vibrations. Too bad, it was really an easy fix.

My unit is behaving erratically. The remote works, I can move the motors, but the gimbal randomly turns on itself on 3 axis, stops, the other way around, usually touch something and the motors turn off.
It is soooo fast when it turns on itself...

oddly, the roll encoders only is failling on the service page.
