  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

BeSteady FOUR Thread

I need 3x 230w for a single day use if I remember well.
Can't say about the Redbricks as I use them only when the day is longer than expected. It's like 1h I guess.

We should really do a separate thread for these kind of user related things. It's needed.

I dont get it Peter, whats wrong with you guys? I have sent you the documents in November and you promised to refund me in January!?

Folks,

Every time this thread comes to the top of REDUSER it depresses me. I don't read every post, but what I see is 218k views, redusers who are pissed about a Group buy and generally what looks like a complete fail.

From what I understand this company used this thread and redusers money as a sort of kickstarter, then they split up , then they created a new company , then they started selling to other customers before fulfilling orders to people who had invested in them, now I am reading that people are not getting refunds.

What a shit show.

This thread should be blown away because it actually advertises a product that has caused some users here great pain.

OR

It should be held up as a clear example of how not to do a group buy.

Rant mode off.

This thread actually holds a lot of info for Besteady users, so (speaking personally here), I'd rather not loose it (as happened to the original thread that was just wiped - that also had a lot of info that was important).

In terms of it's history, there have been many ups and downs - some positive and some negative.

Just my 2 cents.

Well, the thread should be kept, at least until everything regarding the group-buy has been solved. So far this is not the case.
It sometimes looks this is something that keeps some pressure on them, it's public, it's not moderated by them, it's definitely not good advertisement and actually made them move from time to time, when emails don't get answered anymore.

So it's very important for a few remaining people, including me. Waiting for the long promised refund.

BTW, did you know you can invest into ACR-Systems now? I'll not comment on this, just saw it on Facebook (and didn't comment! ;-) ): https://invest.acr-sys.com/en/

Holy cow...

I'm in the market for a gimbal and have been trying to get info about The Beast v2 to inform my purchase decision and I stumbled into this insane thread. I've read through a lot of it, and it is quite a mess.

That being said, can you all who have used your Beast v2 weigh in on:

How smooth is it (compared to Movi or Ronin)?

Is it reliable?

Does auto tune work well?

Can it handle a heavy payload (12 pounds for me) without micro vibrations?

How has support been? Do you get help like you do from a normal reputable company?

Is it easy to balance (if I've balanced gimbals before)?

Do you ever feel like you need to use the app? (I won't be able to since I have an iPhone)

What else should I know about it if I'm debating a purchase?

Thanks for your perspective!

How smooth is it (compared to Movi or Ronin)?
It is smoother than a Ronin, just like a Movi (can't say about the Pro, only used 10 and 15)

Is it reliable?
Well, that depends on your unit, mine worked fine for a time, and recently I had a drift on the horizon at start up. One minute later it come back to the good position, but you know, sometime DP don't want to wait.

Does auto tune work well?
The new firmware is working good. The last firmware autotune was a no-go, but the new one stay spot on.

Can it handle a heavy payload (12 pounds for me) without micro vibrations?
I've put 6kg max on it, a scarlet-x with action products plates, paralinx and a rtmotion.

How has support been? Do you get help like you do from a normal reputable company?
Support have been good so far. Aswers came at the end of the day, or next day. My start up horizon drift is not settle right now, but it's just that I didn't look into it, as I didn't used it for the last 3 months.

Is it easy to balance (if I've balanced gimbals before)?
It is extremly easy to balance, compared to the Ronin. I never balanced myself the Movi I used, so can't say about them.

Do you ever feel like you need to use the app? (I won't be able to since I have an iPhone)
I don't use the app at all, the screen has most of the settings.

What else should I know about it if I'm debating a purchase?
You should know that resale value will be lower than usual, because of this thread.

I must say oen thing. Though it is a good gimbal, it lacks the third party support, like Cinemilled.

I think for example that the cage rods are too short. With long lenses, I often maxi them out and still touch the top bar/pan axis.
A proper mitchell mount for Jib work, a proper stand because it's a pain... you know the little things users like the guy at cinemilled have done to ease the work.

Have to agree that the Beast works very well. Solid performance and easy to set up.

How long have you had yours and been using it? Did it work perfectly from day one or did it take time/firmware updates to get there?

Also, can it be flown "upside down" for a more natural eyeline while also allowing you to set it down when not using it (without a stand nearby)?

Thanks!
