BeSteady FOUR Thread

Hi Peter,

We are trying to reach you via email in regards to getting our groupbuy Beasteady 4 upgraded to v2 Beast still. Thanks

Yeah yeah, i guess it was my failure to think we could figure things out in 2016 after reading that refunding is now possible. But no, silence again. Yay!

I've got a Beast v2 that's going haywire when I turn it on (fw 2.0 b0). It started spinning like mad on the tilt and pan axis'. Anyone know how to fix this. We just wrapped day 3 on a 5 day shoot and we couldn't even use it today. So yeah, not too stoked right now.

Hi Ryan,

Not sure if it's the same thing, but I had the pan axis spin like mad when I tried to invert it while turned on. You have to turn it off before inverting and turn it on again so all the sensors reorient themselves. Then it works just fine after you turn it on again when inverted. I don't think my tilt axis had the same issue but maybe it was stopped from spinning by the lens catching (I had a fairly long lens on at the time. It was a while back when this happened so I don't remember details.)

Solution: Sensor plug wasn't properly seated in the sensor box that sits under the camera on the carriage. Kudos to ACR for getting back to me before today's shoot day starts. Still some minor issues but those are likely configuration related.

Ryan,
I had that happen to me twice. Maciej at ACR talked me through the fix. I've since put silicon on the connector so it can't become unseated. So far, so good.

Could you Guys send me a shot of the part you're mentioning here please?

From time to time I have that issue and I wonder if it's related.

Vincent, if you loosen the two screws on the bottom of the camera shelve, next to the "ACR" graphic, you will find a molded connector at the end of the cable. If this is unseated the beast will spin out of control on all three axis'. It has a way over time of coming loose. The fix is simple, put some silicon on the connector so it can't become loose. I did this about five months ago, so far, so good.

Thanks a lot for the tip Steve.

Hello,
Does someone power the Beast, a Red camera, FF HF and TX video from the 2pin lemo with a Vmount battery; i use a 160wh battery, all is ok but the cam can't boot...The gimbal says "not enough power"!
