  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

BeSteady FOUR Thread

Hello fellow Redusers -

After running the BeSteady FOUR group buy for two years, I have decided that I can no longer endure the stress that has come from it. Everyone has a breaking point, and I have surpassed mine. The company has agreed to give me a partial refund in exchange for their product, which has never worked. After I receive my partial refund, I will never speak publicly to, or about, this company again. I’m not going to go into anymore detail at this time. I wish (BeSteady) ACR the best, and fully expect them to make things right for all of the members of the BeSteady FOUR group buy.

2 years... Man, i understand your move.
All i want to say is thank you very much for all your efforts, all the time and energy you spent to make this happen, to push it forward and to keep it alive - and in the the end staying with us for so long. I can't imagine the stress that comes with so much responsibility.

Wish you all the best with your projects and a different gimbal.

Got the point and I wish you all the best with your future shoots.

Now regarding those left in that Group Buy, we're facing a new issue as nobody represent us at BeSteady and even if we get granted with a really good gimbal before the end of the year, this group buy is a fail for multiple reasons.

We should probably start thinking about a different option than patience to get what we deserve or our money and as Carey is not here anymore to talk for us, find a way to do it on our own...

Reduser is not probably the best place for that but we can still exchange PM or email and try to find a solution.

Carey-

Not shocking news, but are you passing the torch to someone else? Is anyone going to be heading this group buy with ACR until it finishes or are we all on our own as of now?
Since the first thread got deleted, how many here know the exact list and order of paid RUs on this Group Buy?

Michael Kromschroeder for president

Michael Kromschroeder for president

Michael Kromschroeder would be my pick as a liaison between those of us who are still waiting and the folks at Besteady. Michael is a very active Reduser, a Beast owner and distributer. His tinkering with the beast has led to some of the improvements interns of power distribution on the Besteady 4.

I believe Michael is in consistent contact with Besteady which I think helps to make him the best candidate for taking over as the voice of the group.

Of course I have absolutely no idea if Michael would be in the least bit interested, but I would just challenge him to take up the cause. (please don;t hate) :)

I think Michael is a great choice. He seems to be one of the few people from this group buy that actually has working gimbals. I was sent two different gimbals, neither of which worked. As far as me heading the group buy, I haven't been really able to get ACR to do anything for a long time. So there's really no difference now that I'm stepping away. I brought them over half a million dollars and spend two years and hundreds and hundreds of hundreds of hours of my time. In the end, I am getting a partial refund of what I paid them. In other words, in addition to all of the hard work I put in, I actually ended up paying THEM! This is been one of the most disappointing undertakings of my life.

ACR will be dealing with you all directly from now on.

Hello,

Peter - peter@acr-sys.com - I'm handling all matters related to running this group buy.
Maciej - support@acr-sys.com - He is our technical support specialist, so in case of any technical problems he is your guy.

Best
Peter

Peter, now that Carey is gone and you are handling all matters related to this group buy, would you mind answering a few questions? :

- how come the two gimbal Carey got weren't functioning? can we expect to get the same kind of problems when we receive ours?

- are we still looking good for a october delivery of all the back-ordered gimbals?

- when our gimbal ships will the pack be complete (all accessories) or can we expect further delays regarding those? can you remind us of what is included in the group buy?

- for those who wants to get out, do ACR financial state allow a refund now?

- how stable/usable is the software now? do we have to expect some "beta" behavior or a rock solid production ready software?

thanks

Hello Loic and REDusers.

Dunno. Need to check status of those two devices. So far as I know second one is still in USA, cannot tell anything about first one as it is after 5PM and Peter is currently lost in heavy traffic in the middle of Warsaw probably. I will ask Peter to post more detailed answer when I will get in touch with him tomorrow.
- are we still looking good for a october delivery of all the back-ordered gimbals?
Definitely YES!
- when our gimbal ships will the pack be complete (all accessories) or can we expect further delays regarding those? can you remind us of what is included in the group buy?
Definitely those will be shipped, but I'm not sure if additional cables will be sent in one package with gimbals for those that are on the top of the list.
- for those who wants to get out, do ACR financial state allow a refund now?
All refunds will be processed by Peter. It will be slightly complicated as ACR Systems took over designs and everything else from BeSteady Ltd, but is different company, and cannot do direct refunds. If you are waiting for refund - you should definitely get in touch with Peter, he will keep you updated.
- how stable/usable is the software now? do we have to expect some "beta" behavior or a rock solid production ready software?
1.7X was stable from the beginning, but Autotune option hasn't been working as we wanted as well as there were some problems with certain type of gimbal setups.
Currently 1.8b18 is being used by most users. There were couple bugfixes and completly new AT code for handling different setups.
2.0 (V2 firmware) isn't stable yet, we are improving it and it will be ready for V2 shipment. Some crucial things has been changed, as well as new functions has been added. Currently Alex Jentz is running test in real everyday enviroment on feature movie plan.
It doesn't mean that we will end up on 2.0. Currently we got plans for at least next 12 months - new functions, additional things related with The Grip, using new Follow Mode code, couple different Autotune related things as well, additional support for virtual thumbstick etc. So, you should assume that each 2-5 months there will be new stable release.

I'm not very active on forums, focusing on new firmware as well as on other things related to V2. If you have questions - please contact Peter.

Best regards,
Max

OK,Peter should update us, but as long as you feel confident it's a specific case and all other gimbals will get in our hand working.

Definitely YES!

i personally don't want a refund, at least i'm still hoping to get a fully functional gimbal this october, but it seems fair to update those wanting a refund and offer them a fair option regardless of administrative/company changes don't you think?

good to know you are active on the firmware development, autotune is not a problem it has never really worked with the Ronin either.
we are good to go as long as we get a stable release usable in production now. (meaning no strange behavior or vibration, no horizon drift, and steady connection with the remote or the app

and while we're at it, are you still working on the grip? if so is it far behind?

thanks

Loic

running V1.8 built 18 on my Rig (V1) and it´s kind of bullet proof. Only issue is calibrating the roll axis, which is of a few degrees from time to time, but with a few clicks thats easy to work around. Michaels Rig is also working good as far as i know, so there are stable working units out there.
