  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

BeSteady FOUR Thread

Hehe I hear yah ;)

Yes, I have my unit, but not done much testing as I've been finishing off a long running (and painful!) CGI project (one of those life consuming jobs you wished, in retrospect, that you hadn't taken on - LOL)... so just done a few tests as I'm not focused on it (and having to spend time with the other half to restore a bit of life balance - before she leaves me :)

I'll be giving it a some decent testing over the next few weeks, so I'll feedback with thoughts as/when... looking forward to seeing what it can do.

I´m on firmware 1.8 buiild 47 i think, the rig is in the camera storage room right now so i can't doublecheck. Just not sure about the build number.
Only thing which happens sometimes is a offset in the roll axis, we have to recalibrate or go into the roll performance and click up/down a percent and after that the roll axis finds the horizont.
Maks knows about this issue and it should be fixed in the next build.

All other guys I've met during NAB - thank you for joining us! It was a pleasure to speak with you all. Thanks!
After I met both Maks & Piotr and tested the BEAST myself at NAB, I feel very confident that ACR systems will beat almost every gimbal products out there if not all.

Wow thats great to hear!

And for those of you, that want a BeSteady 4 (ACR The Beast) and have not been in the group buy:
I have several in stock for sale: www.mediabit-pro.de

Every sold unit speeds up the Group Buy delivery!

We are the german distributor for ACR Systems

Wow thats great to hear!
I saw it at NAB. It may beat every other gimbal on the market of similar design. But that is faint praise as you have to hold your arms and hands above your head to get an eye level shot.

Not the case Scott - if you use the inverted mode you're at eye level with the Beast held at a comfortable height.

You have a couple of them ! you are lucky Michael, i don't know when us the group buyers will be able to finally put it to good use but can't wait.

Which, of course, then limits your ability to shoot low.

Terry, don't hold me to it but I think if you are inverted mode you should still be able to start in suitcase config for a low shot and then pop up to eye level. Those of you who have the Beast can confirm this? I think only a steadicam with a revolution arm can go from low to high without much effort or maybe a crane.

Wow that is high praise!

yes, if you want to shoot eye level the beast can be put into inverted mode as Joe mentioned...but it also keeps the camera in its proper position as opposed to the ronin which flips the camera upside down. The Beast definitely is looking like a major contender. I just hope they continue to fulfill the GB fast so more get out there quickly and positive word continues to spread.

With the configuration of Ronin, BeSteady, Movi, I doubt you can go from low (drop down) mode to high (inverted mode) in a single shot as you really have to drop one hand and switch over. Perhaps with a lot of practice and more than a little luck, it can be pulled off. Would love to see an example.

This is not the place to discuss it at length but the Helix can, indeed, go from shooting inches off the ground (in "suitcase" mode) to as high as your arms can raise it (maybe 7 feet?) in one continuous, smooth motion; no steadicam needed.

I get it. And that's cool.

It stings a bit.

But I get it. Let's hope they sell.

Hello,

we would like to show you how we are planing to increase our presence on the market to secure funds to finish production of your units. We are proudly present you The Grip - our own design kinetic gimbal controller that will be able to work with any system currently on the market (Freefly, DJI, Letus etc.)

https://instagram.com/p/2DUt2SkCXh/?taken-by=acrsys

Sneak peak (The Grip):
- range 300+ meters;
- The Grip may follow 1, 2 or 3 selected axis;
- you may setup so-called 'resolution' - it multiplies rotation, greatly improves working with narrow focal length;
- works with every gimbal that has got PWM or S.BUS connectivity;
- built-in battery, providing 12V for wireless transmission and monitor, plus 5V for older Paralinx Arrow Plus;
- state of the art MEMS sensor with gyro, accelerometer, magnetometer;
- built-in OLED screen with keyboard and speaker - very similar design to The Beast;
- additional cheeseplates ready for accessories;
- rotatable handgrips;
- simple photo screw pin for monitor mounting;
- selectable filter, expo, deadband, speed settings.

Sneak peak (The Link, or so-called receiver):
- range 300+ meters;
- selectable axis on output;
- connects with 3-pin servo connector to S.BUS or with 6x3-pin connector for PWM connectivity;
- 3-color LED and button for checking, pairing, configuring;
- built-in battery (!) that may be charged directly from gimbal or from USB port;
- it may work as a receiver (normal mode), or as a transmitter (no need to use The Grip!), or as a reference vector (good when you will be using it in a car during drive - front direction will be the same with car's front);
- small size factor, lightweight.

We got also super-super news for The Beast owners. Let's say that The Grip OLED screen will be usefull for much more activities.

Best
Peter

Ok what is ballpark price for these? Love that it's not tied to any system, smart

Piotr, that is a clever move and the grip looks really great, congrats.

As there is no new shipment, nor schedule update i just want to be sure i get the current state of this group buy correctly :
from here it looks like the beast production has halted and you are working on securing more fund with side product like the grip to resume fabrication?

please tell me i'm wrong and you are just about to give us good news?

Loic,

you are only partly correct. We have The Beast/FOUR units in production all the time. And in our opinion The Grip will not be a side product - it will work with all gimbals that there are on the market. DJI Ronin is very popular right now, 15 000 units sold worldwide if I'm correct? So we are expecting a huge interest in our product.

We are not sidetracked by this project. It was running for some time now, and we see it as an opportunity to regain our position on the market and to be recognizable again.

I will give you more good news soon.

Best
Peter

Piotr - the Grip/Link is a very interesting product, even for those of us with other stabilizers. Can you be sure to start another thread with this information as it becomes available?

Thanks.
