  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

BeSteady FOUR Thread

You guys are still talking in weeks?

I thought it was going on years and months?

I don't want to make anyone feel bad. Every time this thread crops up it pains me, for the users involved and hoping for all of you that it works out.

David since I am so far down on the GB list, I think you are correct in stating the time frame!!

Hello,

I'm sorry for not posting here for some time.

We are currently doing all we can to prepare for NAB as we would like to make good impression there and show ourself there from much better perspective than during our previous visit.

I will update the shipping schedule after or during NAB. We are trying to push sales during that time and it will impact our production capacity.

Best
Peter

Though it's the right move for the company and you are definitly right to prepare NAB 100%... it hurts all the GB buyers.

I hope you'll sell lots of units as it could mean more horsepower for our deliveries.

Pavitar Singh: Mike double checked all emailboxes. There's no sign of your email.
Please forward your emails directly to me: max at acr-sys.com

Jordan Raabe: could you please be a little more specific? We are just finishing new firmware for The Beast, it would be really helpful if you could share your thoughts.

ACR forget the "nice" impression at nab, we are (us more than 75 pro Redusers) your reputation. serve us well and you'll make a good impression on the industry.
i remember a marketing teacher telling us that an happy customer will recommend a product to 2-3 people VS an unhappy customer that will share their experience to 8-10 people, we are a small industry how do you expect to sell 100s of Gimbals without taking care of us before?
You changed your name, take that opportunity to live up to your promises?

i'm really trying to be constructive here, not just complaining. trying to send a message to ACR and to those who will google "the beast gimbal" after their visit to NAB.

Guys, it isn't bad will or something else.
Currently The Plus sales are paying for production. If we won't be selling, we won't manufacture more products. This is really simple. "Go take a loan" argument was very good long time ago. I took loans a lot of those, I will be paying off my debts during next couple years. I've lost business partner whom left me with unfinished product. But finally we are shipping Beasts, and production is going much faster than before. But building those without any money isn't possible, even assembly and accessories are changing everything, so we need to continue sales as well. Please, don't assume that we will take our 'corporate cash reserve' and we will just build&ship everything. I'm doing my best to deliver those as soon as possible, but it is really tricky.

If you asssume that I would like to deceive anybody, or dissappear with money - think twice: you may always join us in assembly room and see manufacture proccess by yourself. I didn't dissappeared in last moment. I'm still here, doing extra shifts, working extremly hard with my loyal team. We will deliver, believe me. Some of you already got their gimbals, everyone else will get those soon (I mean 'soon' - no next year, or in couple of months). We're nearly there.

Each another batch will be much larger than previous. That's a fact. Peter cannot just post another timeline without rock-solid dates, and currently he hasn't those in front of him.

Please do not assume that we shouldn't be on NAB this year. I assume that everyone would like to get gimbal, as well as aftersales service, helpdesk, upgrades, accessories and all other things that are pretty much related with company's existence.

If I offended anyone - my apologies. Usually as I show up on this forum I'm being straightforward and direct. And I will be still acting the same.

Loic Parent: yes, you are definitely right. ACR as a new brand is giving us new opportunity to change people attitude. But still, ACR has got all burden after BeSteady. As I said before (statement) - we do not leave nobody behind. We're working on everyhing. It just takes time to complete. Thank you for your input, belive me, I'm really aware of everything you've said.

Hi Maks,

I am glad you will be at NAB as I look forward to meeting you guys in person and getting my hands on the gimbal.

You have to understand though that we are not a group of pre-orders that have put down 10% to hold our place in line when a FINAL product is ready and shipping. We have all PAID IN FULL a long long time ago...and it is extremely frustrating every time someone from the company posts anything with SOON in it. It happens a lot. The recent posts by those getting their units have been a light at the end of the tunnel for sure...but nothing eases the pain better than good updates from you guys...at least on a weekly basis rather than every couple of weeks...

Anyway...really am looking forward to meeting the team next week

I hope that for NAB 2016 you have a highlight reel playing at the booth full of amazing footage that came out of this long and bumpy road :)

A stronger company means a better product and better support. Cash is the fuel. There is long history here for sure. I glad to see some solid business thinking because a bankrupt company sure doesn't help this already challenged situation.

Best of luck at NAB. Still hoping for the best.

Time to breathe.

A company without liquidity cannot ship anything, and it is rather obvious that BS was on the verge of total failure.

I think the best thing to do (and nope: I have not money invested in an undelivered product, so go beat me), is to see if they can climb this hill and become a major player.

Let's hope that will be the case.

Thanks for your comments guys.

Tutorial movies are on vimeo:

Your feedback is essential. If you would like to have additional training videos - let us know. Currently we are preparing list of additional subjects:
- general good habits (tips'n'tricks: using gyro calibration, how to tune motors manually etc);
- working on a boat / in a car;
- setting up different radios (Futaba).

Probably most important movie for most of you:

It is best to read whole manual and watch all movies.

Max,

Thanks for the tutorials - they're nice and simple and will be a real help for people setting up their Beasts for the first time. Could you explain the correct procedure for switching the arms' direction when using Inverted Mode? I'm guessing it's a case of loosening the hex screws on each arm? Also, any thoughts on flying restrictions with the small batteries? I'm expecting customs officials to be perturbed by them as they look a bit like little sticks of dynamite! I've got a shoot coming up in NYC and HK I'd love to use it on but don't fancy having the batteries confiscated.

We took delivery of ours a couple of weeks ago now and I can't tell you how impressed we are with how well it's performing. We have had a few minor issues along the way but had a really rapid reply from Mike in support and these tutorials will help people avoid one or two of the simple mistakes we made in the first few days (be sure the camera tray is rotated back the right way if you go from Inverted to normal mode otherwise the Beast throws a bit of a wobbly!).

I'm looking forward to seeing the new firmware once it's ready - at the moment Autotune doesn't work for me (just puts all the motors to 100%) and we've had a few cases of the horizon sticking at an angle which have been fixed by enabling Xtended Stablisation and then returning to Follow Mode but in general stability and performance are really excellent so I'm pretty sure both are just software niggles.

I've not got anything to share yet I'm afraid as we're waiting on a few accessories to let us focus remotely, etc but I'll aim to share a few clips in the coming weeks if I'm able.

Joe Murphy
