Thanks Peter, by GB I meant Group Buy.

On another hand, do you have any idea when you will be able to send back the first unit to their owners but this time in perfect condition?

with units that we have in our hands the work is in progress. I will know in this week for sure how much time it will take.

There is a problem with units returning from USA - the custom procedures are taking way to long and there is nothing we can do to speed them up.

I will be posting updates and will remain in contact with you.

Hello,

You have asked for answers for that questions

Ad 1) Yes, we are committed to fulfil our promises and deliver fully working units with all promised accessories. We are doing all we can to deliver but please understand - we are in difficult financial situation and it is causing additional delays. Appearance of DJI Ronin and its price tag killed sales of most gimbals and caused some companies to disappear from market. Ronin isn't the best gimbal on the market - but it's extremely cheap and it makes it so popular.

Ad 2) The problem was caused by encoders, not by IC board. We had to add additional functions in code and modify the connectors and encoders housing to make the solution work without any additional difficulties and it caused some additional delay as we decided to test if the solution is fully functional and there will be no additional problems with it. We have send unit for extended testing performed by our friends from rental company on movie set - they were working in natural environment with FOUR unit trying to catch any problems that we could miss during laboratory tests performed in hands of our engineers and by our programmers. We have completed the trails and the solution proved to be working. We are implementing it in the FOUR design right now but it requires some minor changes in the way that encoders are mounted in engines. Those parts need to be reworked but it will solve the problem.

I will keep updating you on regular basis with new information I will be collecting for you from my collogues from engineering and IT.

Peter,

Thank you for your honest response. I, (and I'm sure everyone here) appreciate it. Thank you for acknowledging Besteady's commitment. Post like this one helps to quiet the noise, frustration and speculation. Hopefully they will come more often, even a quick hello would do.

Testing:
I am not sure which camera system the team testing the gimbal is using but it would help to calm our nerves even more to see and to here feedback on how well a fully loaded EPIC package runs on the BS4 (at your convenience of course).

Thanks again Peter for your timely reply.

And your friendly moderator is still watching the thread and will not allow attacks and noise.

As unfair as that may seems.

Venting can be done on mails or the BS forum.

Peter.
Good to see you here.

Good luck to everyone!

Thank you so much for the update! The road may be long, but I too think that what Pro and the team are creating and assembling will be worth it! Stay positive and can't wait to have your gimbal working in our productions!

Here are some tips if you need cables:
For powering the camera, you have to make a traxxas to multiple D-Tap cable and a D-Tap to the FGJ.1B.306.CWLD72Z Red Lemo connector cable, assuming that the power pin of the D-Tap is distributed to pin 1 and 2 of the camera Lemo receiver and the ground pin to pin 4 and 5 .

So you can power the camera and others accessories by the multiple D-Tap receiver.
For the Touch screen, here are some thin and flexible cables:

And some clients of steadyhand will receive theirs in the following weeks.
Obvisouly they paid more than twice as we have, but they didn't had to invest in the company.
And now that more than a year has passed, it has cost many of us the difference in rental.

I really hope the next batches will ship "on time". Like right on time with exos.
Gimbals are neat, exos too. Having both ready for christmas / early '15 would be a great present.

keep working hard BeSteady team !

Yeah, I think they need these sales to help pay for our extras. I see this as a good things that models are going out, even if it's not to us.

Very true.

This company must stay alive. At all costs.

They must succeed so that the BS4 can take its rightful place among the elite gimbals, and so that we will have support for years to come.

At this stage, I'd like to have the gimbal and accessory/cable pack (basically, our RU/Group Buy deal) - and I was guessing that something like this would happen.

If they have to ship out units to dealers, so be it - it's a way to get funds in. It might mean a delay and it's not a wonderful solution - but it makes sense. I would, however, like to see something from BS regarding this - and maybe an acknowledgment that this is what they're doing... and how it affects our RU schedule.

In my case, I'd rather be later in the list anyway (17 currently, as my Epic is about to go on it's Dragon rebirth, so (at a guess 5/6 weeks to get back) means I'm without a camera anyway.

Edit: Just seen Carey's post and I agree... maybe BS should ask people to either hold back (as batches) or identify those who can wait. BTW Carey, still be interested to hear your thoughts on the unit :)

As said in an earlier post, I love it. I prefer it over the M15 for many reasons. BUT, I can't say for sure until I receive a unit that works properly. Once they fix the problem, and get it working flawlessly, I'm certain I will prefer it over the M15.

i was a group buy #3
shipped my unit back for update and it's been sitting with DHL for a month now in poland awaiting BeSteady payment for shipment to release the package.
Peter got back to me that payments come from london, but seriously 30 days and it's still at DHL?

Glad they have others to work out the kinks ahead of us; I'm hoping our units represent proven tech when they finally reach our hands.

Hello,

thanks to Michael Kromschroder we have found some minor problems with power distribution of the FOUR`s. It manifests with fully loaded RED that is powered by battery powering gimbal at the same time - something we were not capable of checking without proper cabling solution that Michael acquired on his own. The internal sensor on main board detects high temperature and shuts the unit down to prevent overheating. We are working on solution of that issue - yes, it might cause some additional delays.

There are some concerns that we are shipping units to our dealers - yes, we are forced to do so and we are very sorry that it comes to that. But it's a matter of be or not to be for our company. We need to receive money for that units to remain on the market and be able to build your units. Without that additional funds we can't complete the work and the BeSteady will cease to exist.

We also do not have anything to be ashamed of about how the FOUR performs in the hands of the professionals. We get nothing but good vibe from the ones that had a chance to use it as it is supposed to be used. We are proud of the fact, the it is on par with and at times surpases the M15. All that we need right now is that crucial handful of trust and time to polish the product and match the reliability of the M15. Freefly achieved that after more than a year, we are getting close just after weeks from the first production unit. We are a significantly smaller team and have more bumps to overcome that we initially expected.

I hope you will understand the difficult situation that we are right now. It's not our bad will - the situation on the market and some problems we have encountered during process of creating the FOUR lead us to that spot we are currently in. I know it's hard to ask - but please show us a little more trust. We will deliver. We are doing all we can to do so.

You are not alone. I and at least one other person that I know of are in the same position.
