Setting up:

I need the latest Firmware and Support for setting up

Michael, how did you mount your stand to sticks? I tried mounting my tripod plate to the bottom of the stand but there isn't enough space to fit the plate on without rubbing against the stand. Seems awkward. What am I missing? Thanks!

Oh, you have it on the century stand. It says in the manual that you can mount it to tripod as well. I was hoping to be able to mount it to my sticks, but I guess I'll use a C stand.

Max, can you comment on this? Do you have a solution for mounting it to a tripod? Thank you!

Er... hang on a minute there... not that isolated. Don't forget I have the same issue. I wasn't going to bring it up in this thread to give you a chance to sort it out privately and ensure no-one else had it.

In fact my entire pan axis doesn't work properly. In or out of follow mode. It just moves with the frame mostly but also darts about on its own randomly in roughly 20 degree jumps. Clearly something fundamentally wrong. It's like the feedback is backwards. If you have a fix for Michael, I most likely need that fix too. At least. I'd appreciate some attention.

Mike, your response to the proposed solutions from our helpdesk arrived in the middle of the night, it was 2 am in Poland. Your issue seems to be a bit different. How were we supposed to have a chance to process the additional information from you if it is only 9 am here? We are definitely going to address this matter, but our office has just opened 10 minutes ago. Remember about the time difference...

As for the questions about the power pinouts - we will provide it.

How? Because that was in response to our previous interchange via e-mail, not the first one. So you knew I had a problem on the pan axis. Then I learn I'm not the only one at the same time that you claim Michael's is an isolated case after you've already responded to me privately. The fact you're now saying it sounds different to Michael's problem is worrying to me. How did two different pan-axis problems get past QC on the very first 5 gimbals out in the wild? Why doesn't autotune figure out pan isn't working properly? And why does it tune tilt down to 0% strength and still it's too high and vibrates slightly?

If you don't want your "dirty washing" exposed on this forum, don't make claims that are going to rile your customers up. Like their gimbal problems don't exist. I shouldn't have to apologize for receiving a defective product.

Oh and I sent my response to you at 3:06pm UK time, not the middle of the following night. In other words, you had my second communication before you wrote your post claiming an isolated issue.

Mike, our helpdesk has 3 messages in your case - one from you on Sunday at 21:28 pm, a response from us on Monday 9:05 am and a response from you on Tuesday 2:24 am. If there are any other messages that we are not aware of - please let me know. Our helpdesk is going to address all the points you brought up, do not worry. We pointed out mr Michaels problem as isolated as it is different than yours. The gimbals go through a strict QC and all leave in operational condition. We are trying to address any problems upon arrival as quickly as possible as these are as new to you as they are new to us. The firmware is constantly being updated as on other gimbals and many problems will be gone over time.

By the way, Maks, Piotr, can I please have an answer to my above question? How can I mount the stand to a tripod plate? Do you plan on designing a little riser that allows it to clear the crossbars? Or should I go to my local machine shop and do it myself? Thanks!

My Gimbal is on its way back to Poland. The pan issue has to be solved.

And I am going to let them replace the original power in and out sockets with lemo sockets

Piotr,
With all the respect due to you Guys, when there's an issue regarding the help desk and/or the customer service, it's better to just apologies and not argument with the customer.
That's the same thing when people are waiting for months or a year, you can't ask them to "stay calm", only thing you can do is apologies and look for a compensation.
Remember that customers are kings and as we're investors we should even be on another level.
It's irritating to read that kind of explanation when in the end you know you will have to fix something.
Regards,
Vincent.

Hey guys,

I'm still trying to find out the situation with the accessories pack. There's an order in with a Japanese manufacturer but they are way overdue . Sound familar? Ugh! It's become clear that they underestimated how difficult it is to make Lemo connected cables. We don't want to be at their mercy so now we're waiting on 2 European companies to provide a timeline for a small batch we can supply to RedUsers. Have to thank Michael K for one of those links. As soon as I know more I'll share it with you.

Hi guys.

Just a little flag.
BeSteady is not a reduser sponsor.
And this kinda looks a bit like BeSteady is using reduser as their forum.

Is that right?

In that case be Steady should at least have a chat with Jason Ramsey on the rules here.
BeSteady is AFAIK not affiliated with RED, and this and the previous thread have been rather messy.

I do sympathise with the need to get things sorted.
But I think it would be smart if BeSteady contacted Jason ASAP.

best

Hey Gunleik,

Thanks for the heads up. I'll do that today to make sure we're not breaching forum etiquette (which I have the feeling we may be). I think it would also make sense to migrate questions directly about the BS4 and group buy to our dedicated forum. What is the feeling around that?

Thanks Gunleik ( and Jason)

I propose to continue in the BS4 web page dedicated forum. May we ask for BS4 special section in the forum in BS web?
I dont see a BS4 section and we really need to continue sharing info. We need to be able to use our gimbals asap.
I agree reduser seems not to be the place for all this mess. I hope we can migrate without problems, please reduser moderators, let us organize this and dont delete this thread...

Thanks !
