I just emailed with Brent and sorry guys, but the old thread is permanently gone. Poof.
But you can search cached pages on google: https://www.google.com/search?q=sit...h=1064&ei=gUE4VMeTJ4PesASXrICQAw&start=0&sa=N
This cache probably won't be around for long. If anyone has time today to visit and PDF these pages it would serve as documentation of this epic journey. (no pun intended)
Can't believe it was deleted permanently... bit of a nightmare, to be honest.
Why on earth would Red delete a thread with so much information which was so important to many RedUsers? Deleting, with no warning so the users effected could archive, is strange to me.
David - maybe there's an option to get SQL database from day before it dissapeared? Usually such a forum has got automatic backup system, so there should be database files stored somewhere...
Second question - in your first movies there was clearly visible pan left-right bobbing. Did you tried running Autotune option on your gimbal, David?
Firmware build 242 being tested during this weekend. Couple interesting options will show up: default RCU config via OnBoard Manager (MZ12 setup), higher Autotune resultion, tweaks for lighter and heavier cameras in PIDology 2.0, autoinverted camera shelf option for mounting cameras to top plate, and many other smaller tweaks.
As far as Reduser's database I could press them to restore from a backup, but I'm 99% sure that would just anger the gods. Go ahead if you feel lucky.
I'm seeing a great deal of it in the google cache though.

I was planning on testing the BS4 with the included X large battery to power the camera, but since I didn't get the cables needed in my shipment, I was unable to do so. I don't have a power solution currently since I sold my Redvolts so I will have to rent some for the upcoming test shoot.
I did use Autotune yes. Basically I balanced it on the stand, started up, then ran calibrate, then Autotune.
I think the pan balance was difficult to get perfect my first time with the Four.
I will hope to have some time to work further with my Four this weekend. And I'll balance carefully before Autotune.

i'll wait until i get one i my hand but this is not good news, Alexmos tuning can be painful and i was hoping to get something more in line of the movi (the whole BS custom software thing)..And so the differences with MoVI may be starting to surface...once balanced (a quick process) M10/15 takes just a minute or two to adjust one setting per axis until motor vibrates, then you back it off a bit till it's quiet and your *done* - bam, a very well behaved gimbal. Alex Moss auto tune is a joke currently and manually guessing inter-related settings is a frustrating and glacially slow process. Was really hoping / expecting B4 would be quick & easy to set up to keep up with demands on busy sets.
Carey, ain't that how it is...no time when ya need it lol. I eagerly await your test results...best of luck.
Thank you,

I must be missing something - what exactly is the bad news?
I had a half hour free to work with it and I quickly tried to balance, autotune and shoot something so you all could see that basically the unit works. People seem to be eager to jump to conclusions. Patience grasshoppers
the bad news is that according to PC Greene tuning PID on BS4 is comparable to other alexmos based gimbal, meaning slow and a pain to get it right. i experimented with both system and i was expecting something in the line of Movi.
but of course this is only speculation until i get an actual unit in my hand and conduct tests myself (no jumping to conclusion!)

2. Cables are accessories. There's no gimbal capable of powering RED directly from camera shelf currently on the market.
