Anyone have experience using or testing both Teradek Bolt 2000/3000 and Boxx Atom systems? Pros and Cons. Range, resistance to interference, image quality etc. Other options?

I just read a thread on the CML and a long time and really experience DIT loves the 3000 XL - *not* so much the Boxx.

@ $10,000 I hope the Bolt 3K would be solid.

Disclaimer: I have not used the Bolt 3000 and could be wrong about what I told you :-)

image quality

I'm a Teradek owner/user mainly. However, after seeing a side by side I would say their new Bolt 4K provides the best image quality of literally anything out there. This is due to the new more powerful hardware and encoding method (I believe H.265) with increased bandwidth and you can certainly push a 2K image out of them.

In terms of variation of image quality across their different supported ranges, they are the same, but just different hardware to provide that longer reach.

It comes out officially in June and wedges between a gold mount or v-mount battery plate or you just mount it anywhere.

Though we don't have 4K support just yet in the RED DSMC2 ecosystem, the fact that the DXL2 has a 6G 4K out alludes to perhaps a trend we'll see in the future.
