Best tablet (wacom seems to be the preferred brand) for grading in Resolve? I also use a tangent wave, so one that plays well with others surfaces and programs is a bonus!
Thanks!

It is impossible to use Wacom with Resolve. Use a mouse. That is what Resolve designed to be used with. And get an MC Color and not Wave. Better ergonomics, wider software support, networkable...
And your point in connection to the conversation at hand being...?Well... hummm.. lets see.. last 20 weeks, done only with a tablet;
3 features @ DCi2K
a short @ DCi2K
a music video @ DCi2K
2 Movies of the week @ HD
4 National TVC packages @ HD
5 broadcast / web promos, all about 8-12 min @ HD
One shot on a 7D (a web promo) , one on an F3 (feature in Slog444), one on Alexa (a TVC), everything else has been shot on Epic or MX
That's only the last 20 weeks.... all graded with a 12x18 Wacom Intos tablet & software designed to use it well
Caveats are that i haven't used Resolve for any of this work, due to the tools that Resolve is missing, and i don't want to do without - the tools it has are great, just not enough of them to be an ideal fit for me
Have'nt heard a single note about me being slow... always made the sched, and made it through QC cleanly, made DP's and director's happy with both the resualts & the process
One size does not fit all, some folks can't work without a surface, but that's not everyone ;-)

It's not impossible to use a tablet, but it doesn't make sense either. If you plan on making any money color correcting, it will take way too long to use anything except a proper color panel.
Re: MC Color and Wave, both are good. I know several colorists who prefer the Wave over the MC Color and vise versa.
I don't imagine i will ever give up a tablet tho, it's just too usefull an interface

Did you see my cheaper solution?
DaVinci Resolve Keyboard - Cheapest control surface
Hmmm... I drive Resolve just fine with my Wacom Intuous 3 tablet.
The Wave is OK, but the ergonomics drove me nuts. MC Color for the win there... Currently I have a rather well-used JL Cooper panel I picked up for a song, but it's obvious why the previous owner sold it. So I don't really use it. Waiting to try out some of the new panels coming to market soon like the Tangent Elements panels.
Ryan,
i work between three finishing/color suites, one has a Intous4 12x18, one a Intous3 9x12 and one a Intous2 12x12... and 4more Graphire 6x8 tablets on Nuke workstations
after playing with the desk layout and the Artist color surface i would not go any larger than 9x12, the reach to the surface over the 12x18 is just too far for comfort on a long day...
I'm going to try the smaller Graphire in a few days, but it's closer to the size of tablet built into some surfaces... they feel a bit tiny once the muscle memory is built up for the big one...
For me... I would discount the older 12x12, and newer 12x18, as the 12" depth is more than i am willing to reach to get to the surface
