I have a shoot coming up in Iceland in May. It's a small shoot to gather plates and shoot a couple of short scenes. Locations inlcude waterfalls, valleys, glacier, and beach.

I won't have the luxury of helicoptering in, and in fact will have to hike to many of the places, so want to stay fairly light. Will be shooting with an Epic-W, mostly at 6K

My first thought was to bring an Angenieux 24-290 T2.9 so that I can shoot anything with a single (albeit heavy) lens. Downside being weight, cost, and support needed. A primes set would be too inconvenient. Are there other options that can give me T2.8-ish across a broad zoom range? Would I be better off with the Zeiss CZ or Canon?

I'd second the 19-90 and maybe an 85-300 in a separate kit. The 24-290 is beautiful but it's a beast. None of these will give you full coverage on a Weapon though.

With respect to Helium, mine doesn't cover 19mm on the Fujinon completely at 8KFF, but the vignette is only slight and def usable.

Did they exact same thing in Iceland

... we took a optimio 45-120 (with a 1.4x) and a 16-42...

Basically on balance the best possible combo... 16-170 in 4kg package that is really easy to carry..

Consider adding a duclos 11-16 or PL tokina 11-16 just in case..less than a 1 kg

ps but if possible also take a super fast prime t1.3 in your favoured focal length..

I'm shooting a lot of landscape-esque things. From the air even. Zeiss CZs are alarmingly good for this work. Just don't have the lazy range (flexible range!) of the bigger zooms.

But you gain a lot in terms of portability.
