  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

best external recording media?

Oh, I should add one thing: You will have to set up a delay (I'm using 125 milliseconds, is everyone else using the same?) in the PIX 240's setup menu to compensate for the fact that the SDI output from the camera is a delayed, so if you are using the PIX's audio inputs they otherwise won't be in sync. The PIX has a mode where the audio OUTPUT is not delayed; however, and that is what you listen to in your headphones (else you'd go crazy). Very well-thought out product.

I would second all the endorsements of the Pix 240. If you need instant "dailes" or a hi-quality immediately editable prores or DNxHD file, it does the job, and can even serve in a pinch as a director's monitor. I've got an early one, it's been flawless. The new version has an even better screen.

Try setting your video out of the brain to 59.97, that will probably work.

Good luck.

Hello Everyone,

I have a ninja 1 but can't succeed to have a video feed when connected to the Scarlet. It's working fine with other cameras. Can someone help me?

Thanks!

I went with the Ki pro mini over the Pix240 because I feel like it is a better form factor. It can merge pretty seamlessly with the camera.

I really wish they would make a ninja or Samurai that has both hdmi and hd-sdi. Then I could use mainly the sdi feed but it would still work on my D800. But I guess I am just dreaming. I have used the ninja on a long shoot and it was fine as long as there was no movement. Unfortunately we had the hdds as opposed to the ssds and we lost some footage from our action sequences.

I am definitely going to have a look at the pix240.
