I haven't done a "dusty" scene in awhile --- it would be better to talk to an effects person about what materials are safe to use these days.

Truth is that any particulate that is easy to see probably would be irritating to breathe.

We used climbing chalk, it easily turns into powder, and I breathe it all the time while climbing so it can't(hopefully) be too bad for you.

We used it in this video, skip 2/3 of the way through to the slow motion stuff.
