Hey guys,

I have a possible shoot that would involve a very small crew, in the middle of the woods, no power, two actors and all at night.

They will be in an abandoned house that is in the middle of nowhere and I was wondering if there were such things as Kinos that ran off of batteries or some type of LED/Flo light that would be good under these situations.

It's a very small project with little to no budget, and I was just looking for the best/cheapest way to get some shots without breaking the bank.

I've done some research but a lot of it is over my head when it comes to battery operated lights. Flicker, color temps, longevity.... So I thought I would ask for trusted opinions.

Suggestions?

just rent an arri 125w sungun, or a 200w joker with battery belts, both come with chimeras and have a lot further throw then a kino and are made to run off batteries.

Kino Celebs are great lights, if that's what you need. They're LED, fully dimmable, color temperature adjustable and can be run off batteries. Not cheap if you are wanting to buy, but would be nice as a rental.

If you want to buy cheep cheep batttery leds I would look towards the hardware stores... But renting led pannels are a better option.

Awesome! Thanks guys.

Some really helpful info.

What is the general consensus on Jokers?

I love Jokers. Very versatile. If you're going battery, the 200W HMI's are pretty good. How much area are you trying to light?

Awesome! Thanks guys.
