Hello all, I'm new to the forums. I'm planning on buying a Scarlet Dragon next month.

I was looking at several options on batteries, and I'm almost decided to buy:
- 2 Anton Bauer Digital 90: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1045161-REG/sachtler_8675_0095_digital_v_mount_battery.html
- 2 Anton Bauer Hytron 140: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/380683-REG/Anton_Bauer_HYTRON_140_Digital_HyTRON_140_NiMH.html
- Anton Bauer Performance Series QUAD CHARGER Gold Mount: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/produ...omance_quad_dual_simultaneous_4_position.html

Would this be a good purchase for a Scarlet Dragon? Will that charger work with 2 different kinds of batteries? Will I be able to get on the plane with those batteries to bring them back to Argentina?

Thanks a lot!!
Pablo.

Seems like you are set on Gold mount, but I would recommend you to consider Red Bricks. They are 152W which equals about 1.3-1.4 hours of running time. I have 4 and never had any problems with power on set.

Regarding flights - you should check your airline instructions about that but in general with large batteries one is allowed on camera (DSMC battery belt clip with a single red brick attached will do) and two as spares, but you have to cover contacts with tape or something else. And they are only allowed as a carry on.

Though I know people who's been travelling with 4 and even 5 redbricks without any problems.

Not sure if you linked incorrectly but the first link is a vmount and the second one is a gold mount. I'd recommend the Dionic HCs over the 90s. I've found I get a little bit more out of the HCs, esp if needing to run accessory power via d-tap. That quad charger is a beast - get it. Works on AB batteries of different sizes, but they all have to be the same type - vmount vs gold mount.

Going v-mount, whether AB or not, might give you more flexibility if you need to find extra batteries at the last minute.

FWIW, I had a chat with the folks at Blueshape at NAB and was pretty impressed with those.

Thanks a lot for all your answers! I've taken notes of everything, you've been really helpful.

Thanks again!
Pablo.
