Hey Guys,
Just recently got my hands on a smallHD 702 OLED for on set stuff and some post colouring work due to it's great colour accuracy.

Unfortunately when it's hooked up to to S-W it's got some pretty bad banding (used the luma test signal to test this).
I assume it's the feed being transmitted over the HD-SDI port on the Camera. Anyone here with some knowledge that can shed some light on this?
I looked up the manuals of both the camera and the monitor. The Scarlet W with V-Lock I/O sends out the following:
1080p 10-bit 4:2:2
50.00, 59.94, 60.00
3G-SDI
SMPTE ST 424 (2.970 Gbps)
SMPTE ST 425 (2.970 Gbps)

The Monitor according to the manual accepts:
RGB/YCC 4:2:2 and 4:4:4,
1080p60, 1080i60,1080i59.94,1080i50, 1080p30, 1080p25, 1080p24, 1080p23.98, 1080pSF23.98, 1080pSF24, 1080pSF25 , 1080pSF29.97, 720p60, 720p59.94, 720p50

Is this it or is there a workaround, anyone here with experience?

Thanks for the responses guys. It was bothering me so much that I just got it checked by a CSI Colourist and apparently it's a faulty monitor. So i'll have to send it back.

hi Tomas,

I have same banding issue with 702 OLED and 702 Bright when connected to my Weapon Helium though SDI port on V-lock I/O.

However, I don't have this banding issue when using the same monitors with my Sony A7R3 connected via HDMI.

Did you determine that your particular monitor was faulty? Or was it the output from the RED SDI port?

Cheers,

Pete
