  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Backorder Update - November 8

They can only do so much but I'm sure they will get little sleep before Christmas, ... make sure you all say thank you once your gear arrives, there is no question the amount of overtime being put into making us happy so show some love, as much love/energy as you as put into asking when things will arrive.

I hope Jarred is still planning an end-of-week backorder update. I'd love to know about the DSMC side handle I ordered with my Scarlet-X and its ETA. I know y'all are working hard. Thank you.

And, at least one person saying they were forgotten was already blasted that their side handle was allocated. Our backorder fulfillment coordinator will reach out to that person with a re-send tomorrow.

Brent or Jarred, can you please comment at all on the AL mount Scarlets shipping estimate, good or bad? If you can't comment now on specifics or estimates even, can you at least comment when the update will come?

After all Dec 1st was stated as "starts shipping" and we are well into Dec with no updates on what to expect and backorders on the AL mounts. PL mounts with much later order numbers than mine and later buy times have shipped. I'm NOT pressuring you guys, just asking for an honest response with some type of expectation on the AL mounts shipping. I bought mine Nov 3rd and it is surprising that my rep has no idea of an estimate.

We all just want some info besides "shipping in limited numbers". Thanks in advance for any new info.
 
Eric, don't forget that we started shipping Ti PL mount versions on Nov 17 and Al Canon did not start until Dec 1. And, frankly, we got a boatload of Al Canon orders. We had a very nice ramp in production this month - and next month is even bigger.

Is it possible that if we ordered in the first hour we'll still see our camera before christmas?

I don't want to put too much on Brent, but I'd like to see this answer from brent of Jarred. As an event-goer, I really would love to see my Scarlet before Christmas!
 
Jeffrey, all depends where you are in queue. Safe to say that we got a heckuva lot of orders in that first hour.

Zac, you are in good shape for a happy holiday season. No promises, but at a quick glance, good shape...

Just remember Jeffery, your not actually in the first hour. You ordered at 1hr 18 mins.

It would nice if we can get an update that was more specific. Something like "all event orders are shipped"... "X number PL mounts have gone out, Now we are shipping to people based on time stamp, and hope to some where around time stamp X to Time stamp Y (no guarantees) by Christmas". Hopefully you have enough Al mounts that it's in order of timestamp rather then PL's first, the Al's. At least this way we can figure the rest out on our own and actually get some work done. I think I check my email 500 times a day! We can also all stop bugging our reps and the nice folks at red.

This is what I'm curious about. Any time I've ever ordered gear that was a pre-order I've been told exactly what place I am in line and approximately how many were coming in per shipment, and so it was pretty simple to self estimate when to expect these things.

Is there any plan for you guys to ever implement such a system? I am trying to be respectful of you and Jarred's request to keep only to necessary communication with our bomb squad reps, but then I see your response to Zac and wonder why my rep can't tell me something similar? Mainly, I would just like to know if I'm not going to have it before the 28th of December because I have a wedding shoot that day in L.A. and will have to make other arrangements if my Scarlet won't be in. Heck, if it is ready to ship that week I don't even mind just picking it up there and paying the sales tax :p
