  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

It would nice if we can get an update that was more specific. Something like "all event orders are shipped"... "X number PL mounts have gone out, Now we are shipping to people based on time stamp, and hope to some where around time stamp X to Time stamp Y (no guarantees) by Christmas". Hopefully you have enough Al mounts that it's in order of timestamp rather then PL's first, the Al's. At least this way we can figure the rest out on our own and actually get some work done. I think I check my email 500 times a day! We can also all stop bugging our reps and the nice folks at red.

I ordered somewhere around 818-845 MST, so if you look at PST, It would be in the first hour.

I actually did give an update like this a week or so ago - by mount type. And, no, we will never say "x number of cameras have shipped".

Brent, can you just give every single reduser a status update? I mean come on, what else do you do around there? :rolleyes5:

Really? I have never been told what place I am in queue when I preorder or how many units a manufacturer is delivering.

I sit at my desk, play some Minesweeper, read People magazine online, and drink beer all day. Just like Jarred and Jim play chess and Deanan makes balloon animals :)

Anyways, just like how this thread started, when we have an update on timelines, we (usually Jarred or I) will post it. If do not have a relatively confident estimate, we won't. Guesstimate helps no one.

This is getting a little out of control guys... Live updates? seriously? People need to have some realistic expectations.

The crystal ball is going to go away now.

We are working through orders of SCARLET-X Al Canon mount for customers at "300" event.

Once N.A. Canon mounts start outside of the event 300, and numbers get ticked off on the unofficial list we can figure it out from there and stop harassing you guys. Thanks for not filling restraining orders on all of us. :)

Jarred, you have no idea... last week I sat shooting an incredible volcanic eruption. I spent the whole time think I wish I had been shooting 4k raw rather then enjoying the spectacle.
 
is production going strong for PL Scarlets? Judging by the list that was made, which is rough guess of course, I am about 15-20 cameras back which doesn't seem all that bad. I am hoping for a january order.

Also curious on the tactical cage for scarlet, haven't heard much of this release (shipping, strong production?). As always, thanks for any answers. I have occupied myself with some to dos for the next month, but still peak at my Red gear from time to time and play with the bits =].
 
i was throwing ideas out there. "Live Updates" came to mind cause the "List" is a Live Google Doc....bad idea

we just have no clue and the calls keep coming in for gigs, having a rough idea would be of tremendous help.

Hey Jarred, are you still able and planning to give us an update on the modules and ship dates this week? Would be great to know when the Pro I/O, Quad Battery Module and Quad Battery Charger will be shipping and of course where RED is in the EPIC X shipments and when Stage 3 is going to start shipping.

Appreciate getting a few lights turned on :-)

I think live updates are ridiculous and too much is being asked here for sure.

I don't think a simple email to Scarlet X purchasers of AL mounts letting us know a reasonable expectation date is to much. It makes us all loose faith when no info has been provided on what to anticipate.

It just seems as there was no hesitation by RED to say starts shipping DEC 1st. (which by the way led a lot of us to jump at the purchase) Why is there now hesitation to just mention something like generalization on shipping expectations?

I'm simply asking to understand, not to complain. I bought Nov 3rd AL mount at 8:50 PST. Should I be expecting Tomorrow, Jan, Feb, March, April even. Its' all good on whatever it comes, but I have accounts receivables much higher into Feb so it would clear up more money for me now to buy other RED products if it was going to take that long. I'm not rushing, just trying to plan a little better.

Finally it is great to state you guys are ramping up production, but that means nothing to us without an expectation on our orders. Please help us out, it is Christmas :). Thanks for everything so far :)

Understood, but are you saying you can't even provide a worst case scenario of when we will get our orders based on purchase time? Seems products without a reasonable shipping plan shouldn't be sold yet. Just a thought.
