  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Backorder Update January 13

Jarred, when can we expect Ti Canon Scarlets to start rolling out? After January 31st?
 
Are the RED touch screens still going to be out of back-order on the 27th? I've been using my epic as a dusty paper weight since before XMAS. :( The monitor was SUPPOSED to ship with the epic but mysteriously went into back-order last minute. Meh. RED REP tells me another 3-4 WEEKS. Guess I'll be shooting with you guys in a couple years! w00t.

I'm also wanting to know when PL mounts for Scarlet are expected to be out of backorder. Additionally, if something ordered, is listed as "in stock," when does it typically ship? Thank you.

Woaw, that is awefull... I must say I have the same question: can we exept the LCDs to be shipped in the upcoming 2 days?

Helping a school to kick start there Digital Cinema program, and they just received their Epic M 2 days ago. No Side Handle, no Redmote, no Touch LCD... Big frustration, but not surprised since I know a lot of Red users have been through this before... I know the all point beyond that is since you received the boddy, if you need to shoot something, now you just have to rent the LCD; instead of having Red waiting to get your order completed before shipment and you having to rent the full package in the meantime. That's a great philosophy, but damned, it drives you crazy to hold this Epic monolite without being able to pull any image out of it.

We all know, as Jarred said sincerly several time before, that Red themselves are more than anyone annoyed by this backorder thing. Things are changing.

But for sure an update on the LCD situation would be welcome :)

If you ordered a side handle and notice that others are getting it after your order date... check your web host junk filter. I ordered mine back in October and it was available since Dec. 15th... unfortunately Dreamhost was junking the allocation email. Thankfully my awesome rep Morgan Beall was able to put me in the next allocation block and I received mine yesterday.

When Jarred says that the REDmote will be out of back order by February 3rd does that mean my REDmote will ship this week as mine was in Stage 2?

Oddly enough, I got my notice today :) Side handle on the way. Ordered at the November 3rd event.
 
Brent, Jarred .... Thanks a ton for the heads up.

I would love to hear some info on the scarlet delivery for those who ordered in 2011. Maybe we can get a rough estimate. I know Jim said on nov. 3rd it'll be around march for you guys being out of back order on these. But does that still apply?
I already tried to contact UK but haven't received any info yet. Because of my funds I just need to know if the original announcement still is somewhat accurate or if everything moved back some months or weeks.

It's not likely your Redmote will ship on time. I doubt it will be out of backorder by Feb 3. I received my notice that it was ready to ship. Then a week later they put me back on backorder status because they had an unexpected component shortage so my Redmote still hasn't even been made despite getting a notice that it's ready to ship. That was two weeks ago, waiting.

FWIW, I just got an allocation for my REDmote; ordered with my Scarlet on 11/7.

I did this as well..no luck I have not gotten an allocation yet. Maybe it fell through the cracks?
