  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Backorder Update January 13

thanks jarred! pumped to see the gunner! the only thing i see missing are the tactical cages... any update on those?

Things go sideways. tooling comes out janky, one part out of 100 goes into shortage or gets caught in customs and everything stops. we rely on some random parts from all over the world still.. and sometimes they have crazy week or two week holidays where it is illegal to work. So instead of a date slipping a day because of something dumb.. it can slip a couple weeks.

Most companies don't do this.. they wait for everything to be in stock and then start shipping. But even big companies.. like apple.. sometimes can't keep up... like an iPhone that is announced shipping a certain date ends up taking 2 months to get.

We are getting better... I do these updates to keep you guys up to speed on those changes. These are estimates.. not hard dates. Just our best guess if everything goes as planned. Trust me.. its not fun being on this side to tell you the bad news. But thank god there is a lot of good news happening now that offsets that pain.

Hang in there man... we really are digging ourselves out of this hole.

As I said, I trust RED completely. So, whenever you can ship, I know you will. I suppose the wait had just started to get to me, but, I'm fine now. :-)

All the pieces for the Tactical cage start to come in in 2 weeks... likely will take a couple weeks after that though to get everything in and together.
 
I, and others I'm sure, would love to know when DSMC side handles are going to be shipped for those who ordered them with Scarlets on the 3rd. For those who haven't received them, a rough window of estimation for the entire 3rd ordering crowd would be great. Any idea, Jarred? Thanks.

I ordered on the 3rd with my Scarlet and received my shipping soon notice from my rep yesterday for side handle. He said it should ship in 3-5 days so hopefully early next week. So i'm sure you'll be up soon as well.
 
I am pumped about the end of the backorder days. Why? Because when Red got out of backorder on the Red Ones they started making Epic. Imagine what they are going to do after they get out of backorder with all these things...

Wait so I'm confused. Does this mean that if I ordered my Scarlet Canon Package in the beggining of december, I should be getting it before Jan. 31st?

That sounds too good to be true.

Hi Jarred, thanks for the updates and stage 3 info. Any news on the nikon mount. I'll keep my Epic M fitted with a PL mount but for a super light weight setup I can barely wait to rock my epic X with nikon's super sweet G primes.

Justin, don't forget that we have a lot of those already on "backorder" from Stage 2 packages so no real point adding more fuel to fire by putting these up for sale right now.

Scarlet ? Is it secret information to reveal how many are ordered and how fast you make them?

Dropping coin on alternate power supplies, but I'd love to use the Quad, though quite impractical without the quad charger. Any lead on the charger?
