today i wrote an app to take a sequence from Avid and via an EDL render out 1 DPX sequence of the whole thing with the DPX filename numbers matching the timecode of the sequence. It was cool. I have no idea what to do with it though.
I made the DPX sequence into a quicktime via the aja "dpx to qt converter" and compared that to a quicktime i made from the avid sequence and it was spot on.
so now i can cut in the avid at 15:1s and reconform the whole sequence to 4k DPX files and errr there you go.
Obviously no mixes or pictures in pictures/wipes /timewarps.
none of that nonsense!
but for just a straight cuts kind of movie/commercial/project it totally rocks!
tryout available on request...
what can i say? I was bored waiting for some VFX to come over...
