  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

AVID says timecode is too long??? Epic M

Still some things to work out for the merging to work as ALE merge in Media Composer is pretty strict. I am working on some things...

Subfolders per clip is not necessary to get an .MXF per exported clip, or for Avid exports to perform correctly in general.

MichaelP mentioned the 25 fps issue above, and we are working with Avid for a fix. Until then, your options are to disable exporting of Audio in the export preset. In 487, you can also export your camera audio as a BWF, and perhaps relink that later.

David

Edit -- forget to mention: the issue is Mac only.

i ran into this bug today.
i disabled in the export setting the audio in the audio tab.
but i cant figure out how to export BWF files from the clips without setting up a second export setting and exporting without getting the message: finished with error

Red cine x 487 with a red rocket card doesn't convert AVID MXF files that work properly, I have tried everything (MAC)

My Fix is to install the red rocket on a PC, then everything works fine with Red cine x 487 including audio. I haven't had time to play with RED PRO yet so i will try that next week

I'll need to check but I am on a 3 month leave of absence working on a feature. After 21 years I needed to balance back in a bit more of my producing and editorial skills... ;) The last I heard was it was the next thing up in the engineering group that works in the SDK for third parties. But I suspect it is several weeks out before it is handed over to third parties.

Thank you for the update Michael

Cool news about the feature; with your skills I bet your workflow from set to post to finish is as smooth as silk :)

Have fun and all the best,

Thanks for well wishes! And nothing is ever as smooth as silk... All I can do is reduce the amount of risk. And in this scenario, I am really trying to focus on the creative and not the technology. "Trying" being a key word... ;)
