Anyone having trouble getting autofocus to work? Ive heard of people having success with the Canon 24-17mm L lens. Im using the Canon 17-40mm L lens and I haven't been able to get it to function in either the single or continuous modes.

Same here.. I have tested 16-35mm,24-70mm,28-70mm all Canon L v1 lenses and none of them will auto focus. They all let me turn on auto focus but fail to actually work. However its works great with all of of my Canon STM lenses and my Sigma 35mm ART lens.

I think the key with L glass is that I needs to be the newer versions.

Hope this helps!

This is where I VERY much worry about RED using a third party's mount. If Canon changes any of the software protocol lenses use to talk to the body. They can easily update the lens and body through a single firmware update. It will then take a while to trickle down to the Komodo. Also, while having Autofocus is nice, I don't ever see the komodo getting anything like eye Af or tracking. Which could actually be useful (although I do think RED engineers are wizards and could do it if tasked).

I digress... as I just spent half a day trying the Metabones EF-RF speedbooster, with no luck.

I would just love in camera FF, a motor port, a driver board, and a bit of software...

Was the aperture with the Metabones speed booster working? (The majority of my lenses are manual focus anyways.)

Still beta firmware and do report this to RED. I'm experiencing the same and I'm certain they haven't profiled every lens out there. Oddly I have a few Metabones RF>EF adapters some of which work fine with my Otus primes, some that don't.

I've emailed Metabones and RED about this and curious to know what's up.

Haven't had issues with any of the Canon or Sigma glass I have here through the Canon EF>RF Adapter yet. Also been mostly filming with PL glass as of late.

I just read in the manual that the following lens are compatible. Can you guys that have auto focusing working with Canon L confirm your versions? I’m 100% sure that my entire set is V-1 and would love to know before upgrading.

Thank you!

COMPATIBLE LENSES
RED tested the following lenses and determined that they are compatible with the camera:
Canon EF 14mm f/2.8L II USM
Canon EF 24mm f/1.4L II USM
Canon EF 35mm f/1.4L II USM
Canon EF 50mm f/1.2L USM
Canon EF 85mm f/1.2L II USM
Canon EF-S 17-55 f/2.8 IS USM Canon EF 24-70 f/2.8L II USM
Canon EF 16-35 f/2.8L III USM
Canon EF 24-105 f/4L IS II USM Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS III USM

I have had no problems with the Canon 16-35L and I've had is work with a couple Sigma Art EF primes. I'm anxious to get the RF lenses working.

You have to turn your focus on and off . Also remember it’s still in beta . I’m using sigma 18-35mm as a test lense it’s amazing .
