  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Any updates to the audio board upgrade plan? I've yet to receive any email nor have I read anything on this forum for quite some time on the subject.

Anyone else receive the email notice? If so, what serial number are you?

Got mine back from the factory recently. I'm in the upper 700's.
 
#997 got upgraded last week... quick turn-around, and extremely nice service.

I don't get it? I sent mine in to RED last week for the other reasons and just got it back. Being #1237, couldn't they have saved time and money by slipping in the upgrade while in service?
 
I suspect that they are also trying to stick to blocks of serial numbers in sequence to prevent any conflict...

long wait

I'm in the 2000's so it looks like I've got a long wait for and audio i/o upgrade! Feeling very left out, no emails or mention of how much longer to wait.
 
At #3040 I guess I'm going to be one of the last audio board upgrades performed...probably sometime in 2014. I received my camera 1 day before they started putting the new boards into shipping camera's. I should have been a little more delinquent in paying, people in my serial number range who sat on their orders for a few days got lucky with the new board. A little heads up from RED would have been nice.
 
Just got my email a couple days ago... I'm #1228. Hoping the turn-around time goes fast...

Nothing to do with serial number only with delivery date.
They shipped with the new audio board after the 16th of September 2008.

So, its safe to say that the camera they shipped me in December of '08 is up to date... :-)

Yep....

It seems most people tend to take delivery close to their camera serial number availability dates. So they're in the 1200-1300 range right now. My #1110 has been eligible for the upgrade for a few weeks now. I'm probably sending it in for the upgrade in about 10 days. Looking forward to it. :)

New audio boards starting shipping in new cameras about September last year, I don't recall the exact date.
