  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Attitude adjustment...

Guys give paul a pass, anyone who spent that much money would be understandably shaken and extremely agitated. I'm sure they will resolve it with Red

Wow.... 3 months ago I'd never expect this kind of pricing for the features you get.

So tempted to sell the scarlet for epic...but I can't justify it yet. I ordered the scarlet on nov 3rd and it still impresses me.
I go offspeed very sparingly. I really just want the 5K at speed (even 2.4 aspect, I like that aspect!).. I'll keep working with scarlet for now and see what the upgrades end up being for it in time.

It is just so damn tempting seeing the Epic at that price point and knowing all of my support gear will work 100% painlessly with the brain!

Exciting times.

It makes me a little sad. I just lost a little respect for Red. Different markets will have different opinions but from where I stand, they just devalued their profile as a pro camera outfit - you don't see Arri doing that.

In future, I'll be wary of high value purchases with them. Thankfully, I won't have to wait long before they decide to sell their stuff at half it's initial price so it won't be much of a problem. Epics on 2 for 1 special with free toaster cause we can't shift them fast enough. Seems a bit used car salesman tactics to me that reek of market desperation but that's just one view.

Jim and Jarred, thanks.

I guess we RED early adopters are all proud of you and to have believed from day one and yet, all the time (E :-)

I lost a lot of respect for RED for devaluing my EPIC by almost half in one day. In fact I would say that I lost all respect.

Wow... RED just made my day. I'm still going to stick to my Scarlet for now, but this gives me a huge selling point on looking towards Epic! Amazing!

Stand up power move!!!!!!

This is muscle....flexed and proven!!!!!!

RED has made many would be motion picture makers very happy...and many current motion picture/still picture makers happy in kind.

Your philosophy worked 6 years ago and it works today.

Thanks again.

Hahahahahahahahahahaha!

Knew you guys would use those R1's for something good!

So.

Just out of curiosity

Are there stille some R1 m's in there, and are they available if you ask nice? Or is it MX all.

Timing is "everything and his mother"

Practically announcing the Dragon brain as "not more than 25k" is a nice move...

Congratulations

And with all the new R1 owners out there....

Taking over a full range ecosystem, more or less.

Hahahahahaha

Love it.

This sounds to me like Jim and jarred and the Rest of the RED Army just declared war to all its competitors!!! THIS IS SPARTA!!!!!!
btw I just ordered my Epic X!!! Thank you RED

As I said to someone else, I'd trust a company that does this, more than I'd trust a company like ARRI. Enough said.

I hope RED will now turn its attention to other matters. Make the Meizler module or some equivalent affordable and available for us. Soon...

So, since many RED team members are in tonight and paying attention - how's progress on power management doing? :=)
