  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Nope... we stocked up on parts.. We will be able to service RED ONEs for quiet some time forward..
 
does this mean a used 4.5 mx camera and ssd for $4000.00..if so how do I get one..Koz
 
We will continue to support and service of the RED ONE. End of Life means no more new production.

Mike's comment was brutal. Maybe he doesn't have bills or lives with his parents, but I have a family so even when I rent myself with the Scarlet, not all of that is pure profit.

So do I. But most of that is accessories. A good fluid head costs more than a Scarlet now.

I'm not sure why someone would rent a Scarlet anymore though. 1/10th the 5k framerates for 1/2 the price. Probably an even larger gap when you take into account support, glass etc. It'll be essentially identical rental prices now for substantially less features.

I think this is historical the first time a single question (and it was mine) was answered independently by all three of yours!

I guess I hit the nail on the hat with it. The answer is great and I did not expect anything else.

So many new independent movie makers crossing my lines in future. I had to educate them with cost efficient workflows ;-)

Great, just great! Now I'm going to have a HUGE problem, a second Epic X or the Epic monochrome.

Remarkable. Was on a three camera shoot this weekend with Steve Sherrick and Lael Camak, shooting an R1 and two Epics. The beauty is they all played very, very well together. Great times to be a RED owner, whatever the camera system used.

Rental is a whole different ball game. I was talking about shooting for reward, DPing.

I guess I was just making a point :) If a shooter with a scarlet wants to save for epic, it would be a lit faster than a year if they work hard.

Why would you buy unless you can rent out the gear for more than renting from someone else?

I just came.

This changes the game beyond recognition with 4K for 4.5K Red One's. Film making is avalible to everyone.

Is this real? Are you joking? Have I lost my mind? Or have you?
