  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

ATOM 600 KV FOR RED KOMODO GOT RED APPROVED!

I’m interested in using the Vaxis ATOM 600 KV Wireless transmitter and vmount accessory. However, I’m concerned that there will not be enough space to unplug the SDI cable from the camera if the battery is mounted vertically. This conflicts with the recommended order of connecting SDI accessories as link Here: https://support.red.com/hc/en-us/articles/360057166453-Preventing-Damage-to-SDI-Outputs. What is the proper procedure to connect the BNC cable and what is the recommended way to safely do battery swaps to protect the SDI port?

I never discnonnected it. Atleast 500 power swaps so far with the vaxis on and the little short SDI between the camera and the module.

Doesn't really count :P

Seems like it lacks a D-Tap port... I guess it's possible to get batteries with that connector but would be better if there's actually one on board.

Its easy enough to make a 2 pin lemo / Dtap sandwitch to put in between the Vlock plate of the vaxis and the actuall vaxis. Just the same way as I made the power plate above.
