Glendale, CA – Atlas Lens Co. (atlaslensco.com) announces the launch of its Sirius Series 1.0x anamorphic cinema lenses – marking a significant milestone in its mission of making cinematography more interesting, more personal, and more rewarding for creative image-makers everywhere.
Sirius Series lenses feature a 1.0x squeeze ratio to aid in the implementation of artisanal aspect ratios and they eliminate the distracting and overused “streak flares” commonly associated with most anamorphic lenses, all while providing the same modern mechanical conveniences demanded by professionals familiar with the Atlas Orion Series lenses.
“When we first started this company, our mission was to create an affordable line of anamorphic lenses that could match or rival the best anamorphic lenses in the world. With the breakout success of our Orion Series lenses and forthcoming Mercury Series we thought, ‘where else can we take optical image capture? What advancements in modern technology have yet to be explored and can open a new era in cinematography? The introduction of the Sirius Series is a significant addition to the Atlas Lens Co. catalog of anamorphic cinema lenses since the debut of the Mercury Series 1.5x full-frame anamorphic in 2022, Orion Series 2x anamorphic lenses in 2017, and the Orion 21mm, and the world’s widest front anamorphic cinema lens in production. The addition of the Sirius Series to the Atlas lineup of anamorphic lenses will provide more image-makers with new and distinctive 1.0x Anamorphic choices for their cinematic toolkit.

The Atlas Sirius Series is optimized for use with both film and digital sensors, providing professional features such as:

1.0x Anamorphic Coefficient:
In addition to the ease of supporting artisanal aspect ratios defined by cinematographers and directors as they please, the Sirius Series 1.0x anamorphic optical design allows for many of the visual characteristics image-makers love about traditional spherical lenses (round bokeh, reduced distortion, shallow depth of field) while retaining the size and weight you love from Orion Series anamorphic lenses. This results in an ideal balance of size, weight, optical performance, and professional usability across a variety of productions.

Sirius Series features exceptional optical performance with character, color, and clarity of an anamorphic lens while embracing the personality of vintage spherical lenses: Pleasant distortion, beautiful round bokeh, and dynamic spherical aberration with the added benefits of zero mumping, excellent close-focus, without any of the distracting streak flares.
Versatile and Easy to Use - Sirius’ robust, reliable mechanical design emphasizes professional usability with many on-set conveniences that come standard with all Atlas lenses. Arri PL mount makes it at home on professional cinema cameras with the added convenience of an EF mount for your Canon Rebel T2i. Unified focus and iris position makes switching focal lengths on set quick and easy. Standardized gear positioning and 114mm outer diameter allow for native use with various matte boxes and filters.
Focal Lengths. Sirius Series launches with 21mm, 25mm, 32mm, 40mm, 50mm, 60mm, 80mm, and 100mm for a total of 8 focal lengths.

The Sirius Series is available for preorder starting April 1, 2023. The Sirius Series will be priced at an MSRP of $5,995 for a single lens and $17,985 for a 3-lens set.
Discounted preorder pricing will be available for early adopters at $4,995 for one lens and $14,595 for a 3-lens set.
Preorder deposits open at $995 for a single lens and $2,495 for a 3-lens set through December 31, 2023 – with incremental preorder deposit increases through September 2, 2023, the end of the Sirius preorder window.
