  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Atlas Lens Co. XCALIBER PL Focus Reducer

Yeah, I also thought it was kinda big and would require some substantial support especially with some of the larger PL- mount lenses. I guess if they could of made it smaller they would have.

Still, this is a very cool device.

Feels like we've been shrinking cameras for the past 10 years-- and now it's time to spend some of the weight savings! Let's get the Ronford-Baker sticks out of the closet...

This looks amazing and what it offers can be a major cost savings for people getting into PL lenses and those switching between different cameras. I just hope it doesn't have a crazy final price because even looking back at similar devices from the past for 2/3" video cameras, this can fall into niche category very quickly. Even certain 35mm adapters for legacy video cameras are becoming hard to find.

Cool idea but more and more smaller films are going handheld...which means needing rigs to be as light as possible. If everything is on sticks then it might be useful. But then if you have more money then you can afford better, faster lenses...

If there was an option of LPL at the front it would be far more useful for me…

and at the size it would need to be on bars and become part of the camera..
