Will the Original Lens gain any optical improvements?

I like the singular more characteristically Blue Anamorphic Streaks of the Original better than the double yellow/ gold of the Silver Series, but that is I believe due to the lens Coating.

The 40mm Silver Series lens seems to flare the most of all of the Silver Series lens and with lower intensity light.

I prefer the look of the originals better up until the 100mm comparison where I prefer the 100mm Silver Series lens better than the 100mm Original Series lens. Is their a reason for the better looking 100mm Silver Series lens image?

Will the Original Lens gain any optical improvements?

We don't consider the Adjustments to the Silver Edition Optical Spacings "Improvements" - but rather Augmentations - these are a different arrangement of the same general optical formula as our original design, applying different tolerances for thickness and airspacing - resulting in a different through-focus image style.

Atlas is all about empowering the creative vision of Cinematographers and image makers. A ton of the flare qualities depend on not only the lenses, but the light source, the proximity, the quality of the light source (in terms of beam shape) etc. The double streak is due in part to the type of flashlight or reflector in use.

If you are looking at the comparison of the two women with the Light Bulb Backdrop - this may be due in part to the particular 100mm Regular Edition lens being used in the test - look for more head to head lens comparisons coming soon from other Creative People!

The Silver Series look pretty. I really want to get my hands on a rental set, either Silver or the normal, for an up and coming job. Might someone know where I might find a set in Norway, apart from Crux Films in Tromsø?

Ljud & Bild media has a silver edition set in Stockholm otherwise Maan Rental in Copenhagen has a regular set they can provide via Storyline in Oslo.
