Hi folks,
I've been through all the material and can't get a straight answer.

Can non-Arri cameras read LDS data through the mount? Specifically I’m interested in Red’s new active PL mount for DSMC3 and the LDS Ultra Primes. I’d love to get focal point and shading characteristics.

Anything else about LDS I should know? I read somewhere it has “boot up time” when connected, but I just want embedded data!

I think an interestingly telling sign regarding industry adoption is ARRI supporting Cooke /i via the Signature Primes. For us a whole, that is currently the way to do it all internally to inject into the R3D Metadata.

I'd have to do a wrangle up on how many lenses support /i, but I do know more and more are coming relatively soon as well as what's out today. Firm handshakes to those who have put the effort in on that front. And firm handshake to Cooke for creating and keeping that open.

Thanks gents!

Phil I've asked elsewhere, but is there any way to get /I data into Komodo besides an Ambient or the new mount? For a bunch of reasons I'd prefer to keep my Revolva.

It depends on the lens and if there is some sort of cabled output, but honestly in my experience the workarounds are far from ideal in both adding gear, time in post workflow, or expense rather than having a mount and lens that supports it natively. If cost or convenience are the things keeping you from a mount that does it in a more straight forward manner, the hard news is it's going to cost more or equivalent and be far less convenient.
