  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Arri launch new Camera at IBC, Alexa Amira.

Looks nice.
By the way, there's also the new Phantom Flex4K, which can shoot up to 1000fps@4k, or 3000fps@720p.

Whoa! The video is fantastic. Looks like awesome ergonomics. From the limited info online it looks like Log-C or Rec709, no RAW but Alexa proved to be very successful with Log-C. Not a good day to own an F5 or F55 I guess.

Depends on the pricing I suppose, but that Alexa sensor is just gorgeous. Arri gives you 12-bit video, the Sonys give you 10-bit video or 16-bit raw. It's a tough call really, the F55 certainly wins out on 'futureproofness' (with raw and its global shutter), but the drag and drop ProRes pipeline on the Arri is MUCH, much faster.

It creates an interesting breakdown in the market, Red with raw only, the new Arri with video only, and the Sonys with both. Tough call.

I wonder what the price point will be relative to the Alexa HD

From the show floor:
- 3D LUT format is .Cube
- Weight is 4 kg
- Antennas are for bluetooth and wifi. bluetooth supports a headset for audio commentary.
- Price is "competetive with the F55" so a good guess will be 35K to 40K

my guess is 29k for the camera and another 3 or 4 for the evf. my guy says this isn't even real yet, no working cameras till NAB and at least a year away
