  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

ARRI 4K Super 35 Camera Will be Launched Next Month

I would say in 2023 as of this moment. RED remains the closest to a "digital negative" as their signal seems to be the least processed out of gate with the added benefit of dealing with actual RAW data.

Do you remember when the same people where bashing Red One in 2008 saying R3D was not real RAW?
Now they bake instagram fuss into their "texture" raw...

But it also looks like they do compress the raw in the dowloading process between the card/cardreader and the harddrive to have less data to handle and get around the compressed raw patent.

DP Adam Suschitzky BSC on using ALEXA 35

By ARRIChannel

Adam Suschitzky, BSC, recently completed shooting "Orphan Black: Echoes" for AMC in Toronto, his first experience1 with ALEXA 35. Adam commented, “Throughout the shoot, I marvelled at the images we achieved daily, the extraordinary dynamic range, the stunning depth of color, the beautiful skin tones, the high ISO capabilities.”

Then after grading at Pictureshop Toronto, he added: “I was quite simply BLOWN AWAY by the images this camera helped produce. To say this is a game changer sounds cliché, but it is true! The sensor is outstanding, giving one the toolset to produce such subtle imagery day and night. I’d say that we could also fly through the scenes in the grade far faster than ever before, partly from the marvellous way the sensor reproduces the tones of any given scene so elegantly. There was far less need to window all the highlights or bring detail back into the shadows as it was all there to start with.”

After his interview, Adam reflected: “I am deeply passionate about visual storytelling, but equally about the equipment that extends and inspires us, such as the ALEXA 35, and the milestone that it so clearly is to our industry. “

Learn first-hand from this interview about his experience with the camera.
