  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Are Raven still on sale or not ?

If you look at the skew number, I believe that's a DEPOSIT, no?

the skew number (fine print) has an indication that it is a deposit, but the web page indicates an instant savings of $4725.00 on the regular price. and does not state deposit anywhere.

But yes, this page was pulled down, so Filmtools will need to resolve it.

Right, but this makes me feel like it was a clerical error.

Right, but this makes me feel like it was a clerical error.

even without that sku, there is very little doubt about that.....a rather LARGE clerical error, to be sure.

we just never know for sure until it is re-stated clearly, especially with all the zany price drops RED has done in the past - recalling the price drop of SCARLET-X from 11K to 7K overnight....

im sure it was an error but when things like that happen i jump on it just incase, even if it is, maybe filmtools will make up for it in some way. i buy from there once a month anyway and never seen an error like this!

I havent heard from filmtools yet, but my order hasnt been canceled (yet) its still "processing".

i love how it's pending review, but charged my card already.

you talked to them? they are open?
so i guess i call and get a refund?
that is a weird glitch being such and exact instant savings.

granted the guy I was online chatting with was confused and he's on the east coast. He said they're using a new online ordering system which in my mind isn't working out too well.

ah, ok.
i just called them and all representatives were busy so i left a message.
im sure ill just be getting a refund, but you never know whit these things, this is exactly how i got my first raven, seeing something where i couldnt believe my eyes and having my credit card ready!

sub:Red Pricing Error

To Filmtools Customers:

Over this past weekend we experienced a glitch in our system that caused a pricing error on our website. This resulted in Filmtools.com showing both higher and lower prices on products than normal.

We apologize for the confusion and inconvenience that these errors may have caused you. If you placed an order for one of these products our customer service representatives will be in touch with you today to assist you with your order and, if necessary, a refund or cancellation.

Things to know:
This was not a system hack. No user data has been compromised as a result of this pricing error.
Our Web Department is working to resolve this issue to help give you a better shopping experience.
We appreciate your patience and understanding.

Just had a chat with David From Film Supply. His response to the question "what happens now"

"You never actually charged. it was just a pending authorization hold. We cancel the order and release the hold"

Bummer...

As far as the "exact instant savings", stores like this just reference a database for items, photos, prices, etc. So it probably has a "retail price" value, then a "current price" value, and the website auto-generates text + number for the "instant savings" caption. So a glitch in an item's current price would also result in the "instant savings" always equalling the difference.

Plus, the long and short if it is that FilmTools (and basically any web store you have ever been to) reserve the right to cancel an order for any reason.
