  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

April shipping update

Looks like we all have anxiety LOL! Might need some therapy after that workshop haha. That's a risky date you planned your big shoot on though, honestly not sure how many they need to plow through orders from Dec 10th... Hope you are prepared for some rentals, I already booked a dragon just in case. Best of luck on your allocation... I will let you know how long they take to ship mine after allocation

I know man. But I could not linger more the film dates. it was gonna be in March then pushed to May... So hopefully I ll be lucky enough not to break the bank renting equip... Thanks for keeping us posted on any news about allocation...

My sales rep noticed me today that currently the october orders are allocating.
So still customers who switched from RAVEN to SCARLET-W.
 
The whole thing is so confusing... I read someone got their order allocated from December 7th. Then I see other folks from september or October not allocated... Go figure... My Anxiety is at this point even confused.... I ll just wait for the miracle.... Or break the bank in the unknown wilderness since No one can tell me a rough date when could I be getting an email....

Frustrating but I know its part of the game. I am playing RED's ball.... All good... bank not so good for this little guy trying to make shit happen...

Have a wonderful weekend RED Family... It ll be the longest weekend for me since next week is my last week for hopes....
 
Alain, hate to be a downer but it doesn't sound like they're going to be anywhere near your date in time. Unless some miracle happens and they get through all the Dec 10 orders really fast. My time stamp for brain only is Dec 10 at 7:00pm and I haven't heard a peep a full week after NAB16 has ended. I really didn't expect it to take this long for a brain only either (when I first ordered and talked to my rep the next day, there was no talk of raven switchers yet) so I'm also kinda disappointed. Not trying to dog on Red at all, the build quality of everything I have received and used is absolutely top notch. I just wasn't thrilled about being pushed back in the queue so far, but ah well, I hear we're next(ish?) in line.

And technically Scarlet-Dragon upgrades have a priority of some sort... Pre-NAB I kept saying "fingers crossed by the end of the month" and here we are... I was trying not to get my hopes up, but back when this topic was created, the end of April seemed so far away!
 
V-Lock Expander just got allocated! Sadly still waiting on the brain. V lock placed Jan. 15th, brain Jan. 13th
 
I guess I'll start getting drunk to forget about this, and set my mind to rent one... So far yet so close... it is so frustrating but I know RED is doing their best!!! So it's a self frustration only... Spent in so many accessories, and not even a Scarlet W may be available for rent at LENSRENTAL Prices... it really sucks...

Guys. Seriously.

We'd all like to have our cameras, but this has turned into a big whine-fest. I just shot a film that I would've used my S-W on, but used another camera and you know what? It looks great. Not the end of the world.

It's nice to check in here every so often and see where they are on allocations. But lately it's just a bunch of crying about how RED hasn't met people's expectations. If you want to blame RED for that, fine, but getting on here and complaining about it isn't going to make your camera ship any faster.

Maybe we can step away from our keyboards for a bit and go shoot some films. Just a thought.

You re right Joshua... I am not blaming to RED at all... I am just speaking out loud about my wishes.... I ''l stop whining anyway, I just had the hope that's all.... When you have a project opportunity counting on your savings for a new camera, you just want things to happen. it's OK I am ready for the worse now... I ll stop whining from now on.... :)

Regardless the outcome, I will shoot with a RED camera... Dunno which one yet. Definitely not my Scarlet MX. We 'll see whats available to rent with DRAGON Sensor...

Received my Scarlet-W #479 v-lock package today (October 25th timestamp). What a beautiful piece of engineering. The battleship grey looks great in my opinion and the case is terrific!

I'm an 10/16 Raven pre-order to SW switcher and I haven't been notified of anything so probably wouldn't get too excited about Dec. 10 orders.

I'd contact your rep. Brent has mentioned that honoring your Raven timestamp is sort of a manual process, so there is a chance you could have been missed. Always worth looking into!

Still trying to keep my hopes down... but seeing so many others get their cameras has me antsy! Hopefully you'll be getting yours soon, too.
